I like the two MDM buttons on other cars. I'd simply have one with the most aggressive settings and one with dsc completely off.

Another thing that was a bummer was in the M4 instructor lead-follow, they divided us into two groups- three cars of two in one group for people with track experience. We legitimately got to explore the m4 at the limit. We all really appreciated that. Unfortunately, by the time we reached our 6 hot laps (with a few minutes for a driver swap after 3 laps) I noticed a engine temperature warning on the dash. My friend kept driving and then he got a steering temperature warning and the car started going into limp mode.
I think this is why the instructors say they prefer to drive the cars in comfort steering mode at the track... because it goes into limp mode sooner in the firmer settings.
It would be awesome if they ended up adding an M-button and MDM mode to the M2 just for the driving schools (though I doubt they would). The lack of the M-button or a programmable setup in general and the ability to fine tune things on the fly like every other M car was one of the reasons I gave up my pre-order spot (was #1 at my favorite local dealer even). I will say though, if they end up making an M2 CSL or GTS I may be forced to order one.

It needs the MDM... it's that transformation that makes M cars more special.

At what price point though? One of the great things about the M2 is that it's a relative bargain. I would think a CSL or GTS version would be much more expensive. At a much higher price point, there are a lot of other cars that come into play.

I certainly think the same performance could be attained for less. I would just enjoy owning a rare car that I was still willing to drive/use/track and lightly mod. You are right though, price has to be right for that to be the case. My vision of the M2 CSL is a more attainable full-tilt small-chassis car akin to a Cayman GT4 but for a slightly cheaper price.

Just changed the oil on the M myself for the first time. No biggie, but the damn drain plugs kept sticking to the Allen head. Anyone else have this problem?

And the fuckin ecs magnetic plugs don't fit so I had to re-use my old plugs. No leaks.

First time ever driving in a sporty event. He took off in an m235i. He could have got a lot more car for himself if he got something else. Like a nice Lexus commuter or something.

yea, i saw some deep tracks in the autocross mulch. i was thinking "how the F does someone go four off on a 60mph max auto cross?" my buddy went into the sweeper too hot and almost went too off, but with how conservative the cars are setup, all he had to do was panic lift and the car corrected the situation.

zero track experience and still took 3rd, denying elim11 any chance of placing.

They work great and don't strip out like the OEM plugs, like then a lot.

The sideways action was no mistake. I purposely induced the spin by adding more gas at apex than necessary to practice a bit of car control.

At the point where I released the gas, the car was done, I guess I'd say, going more sideways. Right after I released the gas, the car turns the other way, and I enter the point of no recovery. So, at the point where the car stopped getting more sideways (where I released the gas pedal), should I have maintained/added throttle and "reeled" in the steering wheel? I honestly have no idea why I lifted.

The day before, I did the same thing at the same corner, but I believe I did not lift that time. Will have to go back and watch video to confirm. That time, I was able to straighten the car up but ended up driving straight into the infield grass.
Don't lift. You need to let the car settle and gradually ease off throttle.

I'm thinking it doesn't have independent mode for each of the settings e.g. Throttle vs steering vs suspension to me set wherever you want?

Anyone know the compound difference between c3 and c5?

Looking at TD but don't want to necessarily change or mod anything to fit 285. They do have a 265/35/18 though in c3 and c5 compound.

What about tire width? My maxxis rc1 in 265 are the same size as nt01 275. How do TD compare to nt01?
