Dinan exhaust tip issues?
Recently installed Dinan mufflers on the M and noticed the driver side tips extend further past the bumper than the passenger side. Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue? I'm running a macht schnell mid as well.

Mine were dead even. Probably installed out of alignment. As JSL suggested, check the hangars.

not sure how the dinan installs but is there room to slide back and forward using the connecting pipes?

The only adjustment available are vertical using the side mounts. I was just underneath and the mufflers aren't budging lol

Are the rubber mounts on the side of the muffler body orientated correctly. Go to Dinan's website and download the installation instructions. The rubber mounts have front and rear facing sides to them.

Mine were even as well. It only looked like the left side after some serious driving and then would go back to normal after it cooled down........Phil

Seems like not everybody has the same eye when it comes to this issue, but almost every single m3 i have looked at that has seperate rear mufflers(dinan style) has uneven tips. My Dinan also looks unever, and i have run it with 3 different X-pipes. Some times i will approach an owner who has same issue with a different exhaust, and they will look at me like im crazy.

There is no way to adjust the Dinan cans. Same result with stock, RKP and AA X-Pipes... :|

Pulling up an old thread to say...I think it's just luck of the draw.
I bought a used set of Dinan mufflers off my friend with an e90. They lined up evenly. He said he didn't need to adjust when he installed them, they just fit nicely (and he is very particular about stuff like that) Just put them on my car and driver side sticks out a bit more, less than 1/4 inch. I haven't tried adjusting yet, just think it's funny.

Since the Dinan mufflers are a one piece design, there isn't much adjustability, other than how far you've pushed the pipes onto the X-Pipe flanges.
Also if your X-Pipe isn't equal in length on both sides, you'd see the discrepancy. |

It's most likely the exhaust hangers. Replace them. They get worn out and can cause alignment issues
