In the first video, I have AP headers and SS Race exhaust. Much was placed where you see it in the photo.

In the second video, mic placement is where the blue tape is. It's centered and higher up. I'm also using a more expensive mic without a wind buffer.

You could also try to capture intake noise.

I've been trying to hunt down a bit of brake, intake, exhaust, and diff noise but haven't been able to, so I'm just going to place the mic in the spare tire area to capture 3 out of the 4.

I wrapped the mic around the license plate and the mic sat right at the bottom of the license plate. I didn't think to bring tape to secure it closer to the exhaust. I'm going to do that next time. Also, in that video, my exhaust set up was only the B&B section 3. Headers were not installed at the time.

I thought about trying to get some induction noise. I just added a Macht Schnell intake elbow and aFe Pro Dry air filter. I was pleasantly surprised how much volume it added. Obviously, it's still nowhere near what a CSL intake sounds like though.

I purchased a dead cat for my mic hoping to eliminate more of the wind noise. We'll see what happens next track day.

I forgot to mention that I have CPI stepped headers in the second video.

I won't be messing with the intake until I can afford a CSL intake. I don't care for looks, so I'm thinking Geoff Steel intake and feeder (or whatever the hell its called) with Epic tune. Evolve intake package price is really nice, but I'm not sure if I want their product. Only way to get a filter is through them, and I'm not interested in their tune.

Evolve intake is good and you can buy filters through ITG (acoss the pond).

Epic or TTFS tune for sure.

Their are a couple of access spots from within the trunk to rear bumper. I placed my mic there. It avoids the wind and is more stealthy than running it out of trunk.

I guess I'd have to contact them because I only see stock and CSL filters. Evolve should've just used the OE filter design.. $2500 for Evolve intake, OE parts for install, and IAT relocation kit is pretty good, but my priority is seats, sway bars, ARC-8s, and Bilstein Clubsports. And I keep forgetting that I'm supposed to buy your BW shifter. I'll be back in Katy next weekend and leaving on 22nd, so I could maybe pick up within that timeframe?

Have read a lot of bad things about TTFS, so I'm set on Epic.

ITG CSL filter fits Evolve box perfectly.

I hadn't heard anything bad about TTFS but it's bound to happen with as many tunes as they have done.

Got me some proper driving shoes, Puma Future Cats (btw I hate breaking in new shoes and seeing creases in the leather ) I got a hell of a deal at 50% off on a design that was only released a week earlier! It's funny because a month ago, I didn't even know that PUMA made driving shoes. Was at the mall and came across a pair of PUMA martial arts shoes that looked to be a perfect candidate for driving shoes and then learned that they make actual driving shoes too. Looks much better than Adidas and Piloti driving shoes.




White would've been nice, but they'd get dirty really quickly.

Only thing that could be a problem is that I've DIYed DME modifications including Euro tune, shift lights, altering warm up light sequence, deleted O2s/EGT, etc. Nothing done power wise, so I hope he's willing to work with me on that.

Flexible? I've been using Nike running shoes on track, and those are more flexible (assuming we're on the same page regarding flexibility). But I haven't broken the PUMAs in yet. PUMA is thin-soled, tight fit, does not have extra outsole sticking out at either side of the foot, has rounded heel. All good if you want better feel IMO. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't grip well with the BMW performance pedals or whatever the hell they're called. Might make heel toeing more difficult because of potential slip. Sorry for lack of info. I can't judge it from street driving.

I can report back after I use them at the track if you want me to. I have an event coming up Sept 3 and 4 for sure but may also go before then.

i'm holding off on coils because its going to be a big purchase and i want to get better as a driver first... but you're already a good driver.

When my M4 arrives I can go buck wild on the E92 since I no longer need the back seats for carting family around - going to gut the rear seats out, get proper bucket seats and cage. Going to have to wait until next summer for that though - coilovers/aero as well.

I can still carve out improvement though it's much tinier and harder to do so now. I want to do sub 2:00 at Buttonwillow in this car; it's my next goal. I could do almost 2 min even in January, so I need to get back down there in times with DSC off. It's just scary sometimes, lol, I had a pretty nice slide in Riverside at 95 mph:

My car control is getting better and smoother the more practice I get, so once I feel like I have a natural command at that I'll go aero. It'll be like cheat mode at that point.

Better feel. Loafers would pretty much do the same thing, but my loafers have no laces and aren't as tight as I'd want them to be for track use.
