Suspension poll
I was curious as to what the masses by and large plan on doing with the suspension...
Option A: I don't have (am not getting) EDC and plan on leaving it stock... Option B: I don't have (am not getting) EDC and plan on modifying w/ coilovers etc... Option C: I have (am getting) EDC and plan on leaving it stock... Option D: I have (am getting) EDC and plan on modifying w/sport springs...

Words of advise..............
On my current e46 m3, I put lowering springs & it sucked. My suspension went to hell shortly after, the handling was only a little better, & ride comfort went down the drain. I then put on pss9 coilovers & was in LOVE all over again with the car: much better handling, adjustable, and the perfect drop. So long story short, don't go with springs |

We will see what the stock EDC feels like. I am pretty sure that this track tuned suspension should be great.
I ran TEIN RA (Full race) coil-overs on my WRX back in the day, and everyday driving went into the Thomas Crapper. It was nice over 80, but during normal operation, it was stiff like you wouldn't believe. If this car is too plush, I may consider increasing the spring rate. |

If anyone is planning on doing any track time, or doing heavy modifications to their cars I'd make upgrades. Apparently Evosport is working on a suspension that works in conjucntion with EDC, so lets hope the same for tha M3

I'm not sure what you mean. The topic of this thread is "suspension decisions". I posted this back in the beginning of December, before you were a member here.

How so? BMW has designed the M3 with extra gap space in the wheel well to allow for snow chains. For me, stock height is not an option. Until manufacturers come up with something, I'll be losing 1" up front & .6" rear w the H&R's. With such a small drop, the detrimental effects on the advanced stock shocks should be pretty negligible.
edit: yes, edited.

i only knew the difference when i switched back to coilovers, well besides the complaints about ride quality from my passengers. i'd rather stay stock than have that again. |

I what you're saying & I've seen your story before. It kinda sounds more like you were driving around in Baghdad the way you tell it. If you don't have enough spring to allow for travel within the shock, you are sacrificing dampening benefits and potentially contributing to premature wear. I've been lowering cars for almost 20 years, so I'm gonna go with my gut & experience on this one. It's easy enough to switch 'em back to stocks if I didn't like or had to for suspension warranty work.

I have ordered EDC, however my current car has tein flex coilovers with EDFC and I love them. So i am hoping bilstein comes out with a coilover that incorporates the EDC function.
