i stay mid track at 8- about 1-1.5 car widths like you say. there is always huge chunks of crap on the outside, and it is true its a bit rougher down low. i never really apex 8, i sort of drift out so i'm about a car width from, and already on, outer edge on that small braking straight before 9.
coilovers are on the list.

i'm pretty comfortable with my 8-9. last month i was having trouble with my 3-4-5 line and we all know it screws up 6 as well. had trouble focusing i guess. still had fun = mission accomplished.

It will be a fun day. Hoping I can keep up with #86 over there. Us BBK guys gotta represent...otherwise we'll never hear the end of it.
Sweet ok I'm gonna go try to go to and hang out with you fast kids. I'll def be the slowest Bimmerpost member if I take the M3 so wave as you guys pass me. I think I'm in the intermediate group (black) with SV if I remember. I can't break into the mid 1:50s the stock suspension is holding me back and I'm not a big fan of the track tires I currently have (RE71R's) they don't inspire a lot of confidence.

My 911 is pretty dialed in and I'll bring that if I can do the upgrade to my brakes in time. My carbon ceramics are worn out unfortunately and I need to go steel rotors with the existing calipers - got to try this combo on a GMG 911 at Thermal Club and threshold breaking was literally mind bending. But I don't know if it will be done in time.

Don't worry, I'll be slow too. First time at ACS with my basically stock car.

For those with experience with NT01 would the condition of these tires warrant a flip before next track day (at acs). These tires only have one track day (sped district so more like 2) at a very rough track - willow springs

Are you going to flip? I'm pretty sure it will be fine for acs but I'm trying to maximize tire life. I'll let those with nt01 experience chime in

BTW, do88 intro offer is such a good deal, so tempting!! Thinking about just the oil cooler though I would love to get the DCT cooler also.

Mine look a little bit worse than that after 3 days at Barber motorsports...I'm having them flipped.

I see you have a splice on one of them.

I would wait on flip unless you plan on doing multiple flips and get it done free. Otherwise don't half way thru what you think their life will be.

How much life do these have after you cant see tread?

I use the depth of the dimples as indicator on all similar tires. But probably about half way when tread is gone. So you have more time before flip even at outer edge.

I wish the outer edge dimple is placed a little closer to the edge.

I always have a hard time gauging tread life near the edge.

I think the original price with shipping was around $1k, so it was on my radar. But when I went to their site it worked out to $1200!

As soon as that deal popped up I knew it was worth it. I paid $790 with two day shipping from Sweden. Totally worth it IMO.

I was originally looking at the CSF units but got scared off at the data presented by okusa and dogbone.

@elim11 those look brand new and ready to go but watch out for that splice.

I'll be getting maxis this week in 265 square but first days supposedly suck so I'll be going slower than usual until I feel them stick. I'll be trying to break them in on the weekend beforehand though.

Can you bring the stock pads for me too?

Yup. I got the pads ready for you. Set a reminder on my phone. What is splice? Not familiar with that?

EDIT: found the nt01 thread splice thread. interesting. i'll check out the other wheels. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=810859

I have no experience with NT-01s. Are you pretty much cording once the outer dimples are gone, or do you still have some life left?

Bamboo has a very high strength to weight ratio. Probably won't hold up in a fire though...

Elim11: watch the RF wear at ACS. You may want to rotate tires 1/2 through the event to even things out. RF takes an ass-whipping at ACS.
