New(ish) 08 E92 M3 owner
Hey guys I just recently bought a M3 back in Nov. and just got around to registering to this forum. It is a Jerez Black, with Gray/Black interior, 6MT M3 with about 55k miles on it.
Well long story short, within the first 500 miles of me buying the car the actuators went out, so I went to BMW of Austin and got them replaced...$3800!  After I got those replaced I figured I was in the clear...WRONG! After getting the car back and about maybe 700 miles of driving...it spun a bearing! I do have warranty and I fought with the warranty company for about a month before they finally gave in and looked into my claim. Last Friday I just received my car back with a remanufactured engine from BMW! So since then i've been breaking it in and driving it around. Last week I went on the annual bluebonnet drive that the Tejas CCA chapter hosts every year, it was amazing! My brother is actually the person to let me know about that chapter and the event. I'm not sure if i plan on keeping the car at the moment, but as of right now i'm having alot of fun breaking it in and may go to harris hill after the break in period in San Marcos.I do have one question though, how much do you think this M3 is worth with the reman engine in it now? Everything is up to date and besides tires, probably doesn't need anything. Does have a clear bra which is nice, no navi though. Here are some pictures for proof. It should be fine. Just drive it and enjoy it. You can upgrade the bearings to coated ones for reliability. It's considered a maintenance item now.

It depend on what u have and also how bad someone want ur car. I have all the maintenance done on mine. And I got quite a few mods so I'm selling it for a higher price but it's all depend on supplies and demand. Most people want an M but either can't afford it or try to low ball u

My warranty company is NAC, I have them for about another 3 years with a $50 deductible. Also it is transferable to the new owner if I sell it.
And yea I guess your right TrakBch, i figured it would at least add a small value nothing extravagant. Well guess I will keep it and if it goes past warranty period I'll switch out the bearings. Thanks for all the replies guys! BTW if you guys ever have meetup close to Austin it would be nice to meet some of yall. Justin |
