My buddy is the Fixed Operations Manager at BMW and when I was talking to him about all the rod bearing hoopla he mentioned they have only seen two cases and both cars were tracked HARD. That makes me feel a little better but not really

2009 E90 M3 still on original rod bearings.

Bought the car at 42,xxx miles. Changed oil to Liquid Moly 0w40 right away. Changed oil again at 46,5xx miles with the same Liquid Moly 0w40. I forgot to do a Blackstone report >__<.

I'll have to wait until the next oil change to do that. My engine sounds almost exactly like RedRumble's video which is relieving for me.

I've read that blackstone reports do help, but at the same time I've heard people's engines going bad even with a good oil report. Shrugs.

What's comical is my daily driven mileage, and track time compared to yours, on original bearings. Grow a pair.

Dogbone has something like 80+ track days on his engine with original rod bearings, so that's comforting.

I think mine are in need of a swap. Approx 150-200 days. Oil results are ok when changed under 5k miles. Otherwise, the lead and aluminum numbers are pretty high. I may tear it down to play it safe.

I have a 2008 with 75,000 miles. I am still on the original bearings and will be replacing the bearings in February with WPC and ARP rod bolts before the next track weekend this March.

08 6MT, 73k. Changed to Liqui Moly at 50k. Oil changes @ 6000 or new Hoosiers (100 autocross runs), whichever comes first. Full-bore autocrossing past three years, with regular rev-limiter activation. Blackstone reports have been good.

Around 132K here.. Still on original bearings. Blackstone reports are good. Playing around with oil change intervals but they've been between 5-8K. I switched to Liqui Moly because the engine eats less oil on it, it's cheaper than OEM, my Blackstone reports come back great and because it has great reviews. Think I'll stick with this vs the new BMW formula.

Yes you bought a car with 93,000 miles so it had good bearings other wise would of blown by then. Getting a good engine and bragging about it as others have pointed out is being pretty douchy. I pulled mine at 30k, looked like shit would of never made 100k. Grow a brain.
