Sleeper: Often referring to what appears to be an ordinary looking stock commuter car that is anything but stock under the hood. Producing around 340 hp to the wheels at stock, the E92 M3 was not a slow car off the line, and rather set the new standard for BMW’s 3-series line. Still being one of the most modified models from BMW, this Black Sapphire Metallic M3 has been equipped with a supercharger by ESS Tuning. ESS Tuning has rolled out a small handful of supercharger versions from the VT1-550 Non-intercooled system, to the VT2-595,-625, or -650 models which produce about 41%, 50%, and 56% horsepower increases respectively.

In addition to the ESS Supercharger that this E92 was equipped with, being able to monitor boost pressures, among 19 other standard features, is quite the luxury. The AWRON DGA Gauge does just this. This 20-in-1 gauge is the perfect option for track enthusiasts, supercharged cars or for those just wanting to add some flair and functionality to the M3's interior. The included plug and play harnesses make the job of installing this many gauges easier than ever.

On the exterior, other than painted reflectors, black kidney grilles, a black M3 trunk badge, and the large tips of the RPI exhaust system, this M3 looks completely stock. The story is different when looking under the hood or in the cockpit though. Getting low enough, the intercooler for the ESS Supercharger and the intake air filter can be seen, but because of their colors and fitment they appear to be factory.

Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps
Carbon Fiber Front Canards
KW V3 Coilovers

Jam packed with many features, this Silverstone Metallic E92 M3 loves to hit the track. Typically, sitting on two different sets of wheels don’t give the best appearance, however this car can certainly pull it off with its TE37 SL wheels in the rear and Apex EC7 wheels in the front. Running a square setup of 285/30ZR18 with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires front and back, this E92 without a doubt grips the road. Aiding in that grip is the APR Racing Front Lip Spoiler, rear diffuser, and the rear wing, when it’s on that is. On the trunk there are carbon fiber rear spoiler rail mounts that allow the wing to be taken on and off for before, during, and after the track day.

Nearly every aspect of improvement that can be made for the track has been done to this M3. Providing more control and grip is an M Performance Steering Wheel which has been made easier to turn in the corners with the Recaro Profi XL Racing Seats with Macht Schnell Rail Adapters and 3” Schroth Racing Harnesses mounted to a Yellow Painted Roll Cage. Sitting low, the car looks fairly aggressive. This aggressive stance comes from the racing alignment and the KW V3 Coilover Suspension. Part of performing well on the track is having the car be aligned to perform at its maximum possible potential, effectively maximizing the usage of the tires.

No the owner uses his M3 primarily for track use and that was the set he had laying around one day.

E92 M3

Color:
Fire Orange

Transmission:

Modifications:
Akrapovic Exhaust System
KW V3 Coilovers
Coding
Lime Rock Park Edition Package:
- BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Front Splitters
- BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler
- BMW M Performance Alcantara Steering Wheel w/ Blue Index Stripe
- Optional Jet Black 19-inch Alloy Wheels
- "Lime Rock Park Limited Edition M3 Coupe" Decal on Driver-Side Rear Window
- "M3 Lime Rock Park Edition, Created in Limited Numbers by BMW M GmbH, ONE of 200" Center Console Plaque

As of late, there have been some quite rare E92 M3s coming to EAS in order to get some work done. Beginning with the Frozen Red Metallic M3 on BBS LM Wheels, then the 1 of 30 Frozen Grey Metallic M3, and now this Fire Orange Lime Rock Park Edition M3. For a span of three months in 2012 the Lime Rock Park Edition M3 was produced, but only in a limited quantity of 200 cars. The car certainly captures your attention as it passes by with the bright Fire Orange paint.
Unlike some special edition E92 M3 models, buyers were able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission and the 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission. Included in the Lime Rock Park (LRP) Edition are Carbon Fiber Front Splitters, Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler, BMW M Performance Alcantara Steering Wheel w/ a Blue Index Stripe, optional 19” Jet Black Wheels, special decal on the driver’s side window, plaque on the center console, and BMW Performance Exhaust. However the exhaust on this LRP M3 is not the standard system and rather has a much louder and deeper tone to it with its Akrapovic Exhaust System. Being fairly feature packed, all this LRP M3 needed after the exhaust system was a drop on some KW V3 Coilovers.

Car is beyond gorgeous and very well modded.

Where did these Akrapovic tips come from? I have the CF tips, but mine don't have painted logos like that. Where these customized or did they come that way?

Eisenmann Slip-On Exhaust

As good as a stock E92 M3 is, one modification that can increase horsepower by a significant figure as well as improve sound, among other things, is an exhaust system. However, choosing the right exhaust system is usually a challenge. For some, an aggressive exhaust note is the only priority, but when it comes down to choosing an exhaust system there are actually many factors a buyer can consider. On a sportier vehicle, weight savings is typically a goal. With that said, higher performance exhaust systems are made of various materials like stainless steel, aluminized steel, titanium, and even now nickel, chromium, Inconel, and other super alloy materials. Other factors of the exhaust systems would be how restrictive the system is, whether the system is a full one or just various parts, and perhaps the most critical of all, cost.

For this Silverstone M3, an Eisenmann Slip On Exhaust was the choice system. The V8 motor is very capable of producing massive sound on its own but with an Eisenmann system you won’t want to stop driving. Construction of all Eisenmann systems, both externally and internally is in 100 % light weight T304/T306 stainless steel throughout; the design of each and every system from tube configuration and size to muffler and box dimensions are meticulously calculated and optimized to provide maximum performance at all revs. Backed by a 2 year warranty, the system is certainly worth the money.

Akrapovic was here Monday to talk about some new products and this was brought up, as they do not offer a colorized version of their nameplate on the E9X tips.

Interesting. So was this a custom paint job or is this something Akra was thinking of offering? If the latter, I would be interested in a set.

Likely custom, nothing offered by Akrapovic.

When tracking a car there are many components that can determine your lap time. Maximizing speeds in the corners, having the power to get up to speed on a straight, and most importantly, braking for corners, other drivers, or in emergency situations are some of the biggest factors. Since the owner of this M3 loves to take it out on the track, a brake upgrade was necessary. Equipped with an AP Racing brake system, this M3 doesn’t have to worry about brake fade or not being able to stop. Size matters when on the track because of the heat that is disbursed throughout the rotors when applying the brakes. Comparing the AP Racing BBK (Big Brake Kit) to the OEM equipment, the AP Racing BBK front calipers contain 6 pistons and slotted rotors versus the single piston and solid rotor from the factory.
To lose some weight and also increase grip the owner decided on Apex ARC 8 Wheels and Nitto NT01 Tires 275/35/ZR18 Front and Rear. Increasing performance slightly with its AFE Carbon Intake and Vorsteiner Type 1 Exhaust, this M3 for sure gives a good yet responsive exhaust note. Entering the car, the driver is immediately reminded that they are in an M Performance vehicle because of the M Performance Steering Wheel and stitching on the handbrake.

Where can one get these paddles?

Interesting. It says "Bimmerworld Shifter Paddles" on the listed mods. Wonder if they once made them.

Nevermind, they offer different colors. Once you choose a color though the price is no longer the $60 discount.
