Used o2 Sensors

I need some advice. I found a salvage 2011 e92 M3 with 42K. The salvage yard is willing to sell me all 4 o2 sensors for $100. Is this a good deal? The exhaust is fully stock. I have a 2008 E90 M3 with 66k. Nothing is wrong with my o2 sensors. I'm just looking ahead for if/when I need to replace mine. Any suggestions??

I would never put used o2 sensors in my car. Who knows if the car was in a huge rear end and has damaged sensors? It's just not worth the risk for a couple hundred bucks.

While I tend to agree with Mike, I don't think it's a bad idea to just get the front ones. They seem to go without warning (already replaced 2 on the same side) and it will buy you time to get new ones if you had to change them.

I also would do it since the prices of these things seem to be wildly going up and down in price and their supply are in short amounts. I have a couple on hand in case they go again.

Just spend the extra money and buy new. Not worth the hassle of buying used and then having to undo the process to put the replacement in. Do it once and do it right.

why would a specifically rear end collision damage them? actually why would any collision at all damage them?

the front sensors are used to determine air to fuel ratio, so i went with new ones on my car just to maximize power output and fuel efficiency. the secondary sensors are only to monitor the cats, so there isn't anything wrong with putting used ones. i didn't even bother to change mine, and they have 160000 km on them

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm not in need of any o2 sensors at the time but this just seemed like a good deal. I'll just buy new later on down the line.

I was rear ended in 2009 and it even damaged the cat itself. The point is that you don't know what's happened to parts off of a salvage car. It's not something you can visually see so it's better to pass. We're not talking about 5k here.
