Car takes 3x longer to start ONLY after getting gas.
I've been getting an intermittent "Increased emissions" CEL over the past few months (forget the exact code at the moment - pointed to a minor leak in the emissions system) and was told to replace the gas cap, which I've done. FWIW car has 130k miles
Problem is still there, and becoming more frequent that I'll throw a CEL. Now whenever I get gas the car will crank for 7-10 seconds before it fires up. When it does finally fire, it's running like its flooded for 30 seconds. I can't imagine this is a fuel pump/filter issue as it starts perfectly after the initial start after filling up. Problem ONLY occurs when getting gas and the first start after. Are there any purge vales etc on the emission canister that could be getting stuck open? Not sure where to start with this one... Thanks, Ry |

interested to see if this is the fix. My car has been doing the same thing and has also stalled after getting gas many times. Did yours do that? My light is also on with the same thing.

Should have time to do the fix this weekend. All signs point to the part referenced above. Also, feel free to check this thread which gave me the idea.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ht=13907838281 My car generally will not stall, however it has done so twice that I can remember over the past 3-5 months. Both times it was after getting fuel and moving maybe 150 feet to a parking space in the same lot. Idle is generally OK after first start, as in it does not bounce as others have had happen. Sometimes it will idle lower than what I'd like to see by 150RPM or so, mostly after a fill up. I will get "tighten gas cap" message even after replacing the cap with another OEM. This happens randomly even after a gas fill. If I get 3 starts in a row that prompt "tighten gas cap" I'll then throw a CEL for Increased Emissions (Evap system minor leak). Which I can clear via a OBD scanner. |

I had a buddy run the code for mine. It pulled up P0492... secondary air injection sensor or something like that.. never heard of it. He cleared the code now just waiting to see if it comes back on. I'm not too concerned with it. Sensors can be finicky at times. I hope you get yours fixed tho. Good luck!
