ESS Supercharger - 5 Gallon Water/Ice Tank Install

Clean install dude, I like it. I'd be very anxious about putting the lines so close to the driveshaft, but it looks like it's bolted down well.

This was going to be my next mod on my car if I didn't jump ship back to the darkside.

I Get. 66F IAT and ambient temp was 110F, every run I ve dump the used water,and refill with freezing water and 2 Bags of ice.
My ice thank has a by pass valve in water
returns line ,so o ve just open the valve and the water pump did dump!

You mean like I did? Not huge, but holds almost a gallon. About 10x the capacity of the ESS-provided unit. Also has a grate that keeps ice from blocking the drain outlet into the pump.

Another (small) benefit of the trunk system is better weight distribution. The car is already a tad nose heavy. Taking some of that weight from the engine bay and putting it in the trunk is a good idea.

Not sure if it's feasible, but I think an ultimate setup would be to plumb the A2W intercooler to an all-aluminum, aftermarket radiator and then plumb the radiator to an ice/water tank in the trunk.

That's already being done. I believe the liquid cooler unit is an OEM piece for a Porsche Boxter. It's quite dense but not a huge amount of surface area. If one removes the scoops behind the kidney grill, there's a substantial amount of room back there for a taller HX unit.

Wow that's very impressive. I did 2 bags of ice on a couple races and after the race I noticed there was still some ice that was not melted so this was fantastic for IAT reduction.

On the dyno I didn't see any gains in power once the water was below about 95 degrees F. At that level I was making full power.

Nice,o believe due to Dual water pump system ,the water flow was Huge ,and I did some mods concern about the Water Flow.
1- Original path (Reservoir-Radiator-ESS PLAIN -reservoir)
2- My design (Trunk Water Tank 2000GPH flow-ESS Plain-RADIATOR- Trunk Water Tank)

I don't think you need the trunk mounted submerged bilge pump. I bought one but did not install it because the water flow was very fast already.

Adams, the question is how faster the OEM(ESS) pump can Dump a return hot water?

The faster water may not be better, it may pass through the heat exchanger too fast.

Wonder if this lends itself to a VF application. I got a quote from them but they knew nothing about VF.

90% of it won't be any different between the two. The VF kit's inlet/outlet is on the rear of the manifold vs the right side like ESS.

The under hood system is nice... Changing spark plugs and doing engine maintenance becomes that much more of a pain but I like it. I think I would do the rear setup over the under the hood if I were to do it.

No condensation.

Sorry don't have the dimensions off the top of my head. I'm traveling at the moment but can take measurements when I get back to Cali.

i don't mean to answer for Longboarder but I believe our tanks are identical.
mine is 11 3/4 by 11 3/4 and 8 3/4 in high. it is a 5 gallon capacity tank with connections to run an inside pump if desired. I do not have any condensation either. not even at the vent tube. the nice feature of the box is the drain tube as well.

Just measured mine and the dimensions are the same.

While I don't get condensation, if the lid is not on tight I have had a few drops of water leak out on to the side of the tank or on the trunk carpet. No biggie just re-tighten the lid.
