no doubt they are expensive and the gains are less than just doing pipe/test pipes but that is really a discussion of worth which will vary per person. The real discussion is about the actual gains (regardless of price).

I can see real gains from the Bimmerworld headers, not so much from ARH's.
If you've done every bolt-on items available, I see headers and carbon drive shaft left on your list. |

I will say this about that Bimmerworld test, it seems real world and apples to apples. They tuned the cars with the headers and with the OEM manifolds using the same type of xpipe. A test I wish ARH did a long time ago. Dave

Sal at ACM put Schmeidmann headers on his SC m3 and gained about 16 hp. Of course no gain on a NA engine. However, it's a one time install and will pass the emmissions so no swap out every two years, the biggest problem with long tube headers. If you can't pass emissions, SC or not, no headers are worth it.

We offer cats as an option that are 49 State legal with an EO Certification. Those that want to avoid cat inefficiency codes can do so with these cats. We use them on our C7 Corvette systems and they work extremely well.
Considering there's 40-45 sets sold, nearly half of which are on NA cars, no one is complaining about how well ARH headers work except those that don't have them. Go figure. Nick |

I think it's the fact how high the price is compared to all other platforms they offer their headers for... For the average joe (me) it's just way too high.

This is part of the problem, we pay twice the price without even seeing one of their dyno's inflated or not. I for one was holding out hope, now I believe its all snake oil... A fool and his money are soon parted...

Prob because most people buying these systems do not know any better, or do not do a before and after dyno or did find out they only gained 5hp over a $300 test pipe and are crying in a corner instead of saying anything on the forums lol.
If your not SC its snake oil.

An M3 with 5 more RWHP than you, side by side, would simply drive away and you couldn't do a thing about it but, that fact is only important to those that are seeking peak performance.
Our headers WITH ARH CATS thus far make approximately 11-13 RWHP over cat delete systems with or without the factory Axleback. We've seen zero gains from muffler swaps, including our own, which still happen to sound amazing IMO. We've honestly seen no gains with mufflers of different brands compared to stock on stock NA M3's. |

Beg to differ. The Schmeidmann headers look almost exactly the same as stock headers. You'd never know the difference without someone telling you their not stock. In CT we have the same as Cal but 4 years on new instead of 5, OBDII test and visual for cats.

Just asking here but why would you have to change headers to pass the smog, is it because the visual says if it has been changed then you automatically fail? Just wondering because the headers are no different than the stock ones in that sense.
Sometimes I think it would be very cool to live in CA, other times not so much.
