Megan plus test pipes sounds amazing. I have ran multiple set ups and have heard a lot of different exhaust combos on the e92 and the megan plus test pips is near the very top of all of them. OEM sounds like shit in comparison unless you like a really raspy exhaust

Sound is subjective. I have never had anyone tell me my car DOESN'T sound good. In fact, I've been followed just so the guy could tell me how GOOD my car does sound with a megan (he didn't know what brand it was). I am/was the highest horsepower out of a ESS-550 kit which I ran with my megan exhaust and MS test pipes too. So for me, the exhaust sounds bad ass and it didnt keep me from being the highest HP out of a ESS 550 kit. ![]() Just sharing my experience with it.

Don't take advice from anyone who has not at least owned the exhaust. All these "educated" folk on here so willing to give an opinion at any chance...
Anyway, I have had the Megan, Muffler Mod, Borla, CNT, and Remus. For the money, IMHO, there is nothing better than the Megan exhaust. However, I had Corsas on my previous Z06 and Mustang, thus if money were no object, I probably would've gone with Corsa. But that topic is neither here nor relevant for what you asked. So yes, Megan is an amazing sounding exhaust for the money. Trust me, I never have less than three exhaust setups on any of my cars :-)

After running through several tunnels on the blue ridge parkway last weekend I gained a new respect for this exhaust. Although I have been really happy with it, I really didn't know how aggressive it sounded at wot until the tunnels. Holy shit. Can't recommend it more.

Having owned this exhaust for a couple months now, I can say it is tunnel approved, WOT approved, and daily driver approved. I run it with the Turner test pipes, and what a combo. It pops when I rev it, it has a beautifully de-acceleration noise, and the shifts whether up or down sound fantastically mean. Most people I pass on the sidewalk turn around to see what just passed them, because of the sound.
Quality is superb, and sound is phenomenal. I'll recommend it to anyone with an e9x M3.

I've noticed the loudness is primarily in the lower RPMS up to 4,000 RPM in the Agency-Power/Megan axle back exhaust. Past that, it seems to sound stock-ish. Anyone else notice this?
IMO, It has a great, refined, warm tone up to 4k, then sounds stockish in the higher RPM's. To me, this is a good thing and the only thing I'd change is I'd want a higher pitch scream in the higher RPMs. Would an x-pipe or test pipes add this?

its like nike.... just do it!!! I will be doing the same thing with turner test pipes. If you like it then thats all that matters. People will always like it and others will not. There are some people that don't even like the car we choose to drive too... I will have to say they are complete idiots but thats a different subject. At the end of the day if you can't even walk away from your car without looking back it more than once then you know you made the right decision...

I think you'll be surprised. I certainly was....unless the tp's make that big of a diff.

I've had mine for about 6 months now on an e90, I couldn't be happier with it. I picked it up off a member on here and it turned out it had the "burnt tips" I'm not a huge fan but since my car is interlagos blue, it matched up perfectly. I thought the welds were great, the design of the exhaust is my favorite compared to others. The sound to me is great whereas I didn't want anything too loud. Absolutely no drone when cruising down the highway.

I've had my megan exhaust on my car for 2 1/2 years and always get compliments on the sound. For under $500, you can't go wrong with it. People are alway's shocked when they ask me what exhaust I'm running and tell them it's a megan.

To OP when I had it on my e90 with test pipes it was beefy down low and if I redlined, it would literally scream. Everyone on the street would trip out including me. ![]() Only reason I got rid of it was that it was e92 fitment and I didn't want to cut and weld an original piece up. |
