Video - Normal Ticking? New BMW Shell oil - 11,000 mile 2011.75 E90

Hi All,

I have an e90 2011.75 m3 that i bought pre-owned from 9,000 miles in November. I changed the oil recently and went with the new shell oil from BMW. I just got back from a business trip and decided to start my car. I heard ticking noises and I am not sure if its normal. What do y'all think?

when i was on TWS oil, it was never this loud or noticeable. Has anyone else switched over to the new bmws shell oil? also my oil level is stating at mid-way since i changed it. I only drove 500 miles. Not leaking anywhere.

At idle like your video shows , your S65 sounds fine .
More important is how it sounds when you rev it slowly up to 3K rpm's with the cam close to driver side front wheel .

The S65 has a noisy valvetrain. It's especially loud when it's cold and at idle, and the 10w60 is a bit on the thick side until it gets warmed up (which exacerbates the valvetrain noise).

Yours sounds fine.

Sounds like injector noise, no? My 2011.75 E90 sounds the same. On the old, and new oil
