Muffler Delete with resonators still intact.

I've done the ACM Muffler mod where you cut out the baffles from the stock muffler and weld in straight pipes. I want a little more sound though.

I was thinking of doing a muffler delete, but leaving the cats and res still intact. Would this sound any different? (I can't find any videos of just a muffler delete, they all have muff and res deleted)

Muffler delete will probably be slightly louder but drone much more.

Muffler delete is the same exact thing as the acm mod

Cut out the secondary cats, that might increase the sound just a tad.

I don't think I'll pass smog. Might as well just do test pipes at that point

I got a muffler delete on my car about three months ago. I had one on my previous M6 and loved it as well. To my surprise, when I first got it done, it sounded absolutely terrible. I have never heard anything like it! The drone was amazing it was like I was driving a sub woofer! So I started researching other exhaust, but didn't have time to go back to the muffler shop to have the stock exhaust put on for another week.

Well, over the next week the exhaust keep getting more and more quiet, and began to sound more like I remembered my M6. After 2-3 weeks the exhaust sounds perfect IMO. Yes, it is loud, but that is what I want. It absolutely SCREAMS on throttle, and the down shifts are godly. I might actually like it more than the V10, because it still has that exotic scream, but it also has a bit of a V8 growl. It may be the color of the car, all the carbon fiber, and the aggressive styling of the m3, but I get so many compliments on the way this car sounds. Literally every time I drive someone screams out the window rev it up, or that sounds f'in awesome!

Now, I'm not saying that the muffler delete is the best option for everyone. I have not heard many exhaust in person, and it is loud, but it is exactly what I want for the car. There is very minimal drone; the only time I have a problem is on the interstate at 70 MPH. I don't drive on the interstate much so this is not an issue, plus if you go either 65 or 75 the drone is gone.

i had the same problem you had. delete the resonators. they will increase sound, and will not affect emissions.

My man just get test pipes and a tune. Not only will it change the loudness of the your car, but the midrange is just so much more punchy. I have secondary cats and resonators with amc test pipes and acm mod exhaust. It feels like what 4k rpm is @ 3k rpm. Just makes the car move! Check out my video for sound reference. Absolutely no drone as well!

If she was nude you would get more views and we could accurately evaluate the muffler delete sound a lot better. lol.

LOL! We are currently working on that! For now my views have increased from 9 total views to a whopping 16.
