Today I learned that pushing in the clutch is a universal solution to all dangerous situations involving a blown S65 motor.

If smoke covered your window and you couldn't see: push in the clutch. That will clear it up.

If oil spilled on your tires and throws you into a spin: push in the clutch. That will decontaminate the tires and straighten out the car.

If oil spilled on your exhaust and the car catches fire: push in the clutch. That will immediately douse the fire.

If you're in a turn and the loss of power causes the suspension to shift suddenly and is about to throw you into a wall: push in the clutch. That will fix the handling and guide you to safety.

For the people behind you that were blinded by your billowing smoke: they need to push in their clutches too. That will clear the smoke and put a safety force field around their cars.

Man, just think of how many lives that could have been saved if people only knew about this simple safety feature of their cars.

if your rear wheels don't get the power from engine, oil wouldn't impact them (unless you slammed the brake), they'll just keep rotating in same direction, if you don't believe me find an empty lot covered in ice, go straight, press your clutch and turn off all safety systems , the car will continue to go straight

My car developed this rod bearing issue at 42,000. It's a 2011 M3 Coupe. My tapping was audible from 1,000-2,000 RPM under light load. I could always hear it going up my driveway and when alongside K rail in freeway traffic. My dealer is denying any issues. My last service appointment was a waste of time. They said they drove it thoroughly and couldn't produce the noise. I came down to take a spin with a tech and I couldn't hear it now either. I did notice only 1 additional mile on it after my original drop off. I took the car back and the noise came back 20 miles later. I think they put an additive in my oil to quiet it. I took my car to European Auto Source for bearing replacement. They send your oil out to be analyzed for metal. I'm just paying for the work and then going to small claims court with my oil report and receipts and trying to recoup my money. The replacement is costing me $2,300 but I'll have a purring kitten again. Trust me ya'll.......DEALERS ARE NOT EQUIPPED TO DEAL WITH THIS. They pay their in experienced techs shit money and so you pay for SHIT work! I love the manufacturer but despise BMW dealers. I would love to find a factory owned dealership to use near LA!!!!

My previous S54 threw a rod and failed while I was doing 85 mph! It sure is not a nice situation to be in!

Piston #6 fired up penetrating the block - Engine locked up, locking up the SMG which bent the drive-train and broke the rear LSD. Drive-train went from 85 mph to 0 in a split second. Just like you pulled the mother out of the hand brake at 85 mph. It almost killed me but I managed to throw it to the side shoulder....
