It's power under the curve or average power. At low speeds, even on the DCT; the car falls out of the peaky powerband of the centri S65. There's ways to mitigate this on centri kits but no one has done it yet. Involves running small pullies and a wastegate to limit the air going into the manifold.
The Harrop makes as much average power here (or at least really close) because the car isn't falling out of the powerband (it, in effect, is wider). Again, apples to apples, the car that makes the most average power over the run of acceleration event will win.

Harrop seems like a great option if you dont actually use the car above 5k, as in rarely or never race. Of course, you could always get the same low acceleration that the harrop is providing, by doing a differential change, that gives you the acceleration of more tq, but you keep the HP We can more accurately compare the 2 once they send drf files to the database so we can overlay them with the rest. |

Sorry this took so long...been real busy. Here's the comparison I promised.
Here's the area-under-curve graphs, and the CarTest estimates for ESS @ 511whp vs. Harrop TVS. The closest I had for ESS was 490 or 511. You guys wanted 500, so I shot over to 511 instead of down to 490. The CarTest results are using the actual WHP dyno charts input into CarTest for analysis. ![]() ![]() |
