Congatulations. Only thing that doesn't seem quite right is the paint option code. A52 is Space Gray Metallic. Silverstone II is A29.
P.S. Everyone that goes to Iraq should get an M3 as a bonus. |

I doesnt look like he's going through Military Sales. I recommend you go through Military Sales to save between 10-12% off MSRP.

I changed the color. It was dark gray, but changed it to SSII. thanks for catching that, I will call my dealer. Thanks for your comment that everyone in Iraq should get an M3. I agree. I am not going thru military sales, actually. I looked into it and it looked like all I was going to save is about 3,000 dollars. do you guys think, I should go thru military sales?

This might be a really stupid question, but what do you get as standard equipment in the US ? Here in Luxembourg we get the Black Novillo leather, alarm, electric front seats with memory, light package + cup holders etc, automatic rain and light sensors, xenon lights + headlight washers, air-co, cruise control, front arm-rest and I don't remember what else as standard equipement included in the base price. Our only options (to be added to the basic price that is) are metallic color, EDC, M-drive, PDC, professional navigation, heated front seats, carbonschwarz inside decoration and tinted back windows.
*** Never mind this question, I just saw the US brochure - which obviously answers my question above. Last edited by Bastet; 12-03-2007 at 07:13 AM.. Reason: updated info |

Sorry, I forget to explain what I meant. I am number one on my dealer list, which means I should have the car by Feb. End of Feb to be exact. With mil sales, I won't have the car till about May or so.. I thought long about this and decided an extra 3000 dollars is not bad to have my baby 3 months sooner. Of course, I don't have money to burn, and that was the reason for my question. I guess I just wanted support for spending an extra 3000 dollars just to have her sooner.

Let me see...I looked at that too...$58k plus options AND a markup (sales guy I spoke with last week was talking at least $4k to the MRSP on all their waitlist deliveries and said they're out to #18 or so which they don't plan to be able to fill until 2009!) from my normal local dealer who I've bought 2 prior BMW's from and do all my Dinan upgrades OR mil sales for $49k MSRP plus options? It wasn't close. I'll wait till end of May or June for my car with military Sales and take the $6-8k saved roughly and use it on options and upgrades thank you very much. After all what is 3-4 months more? Believe me you'll kick yourself in the AM if you waste $3-4k unless like others have said you have $$ to burn and it doesn't matter OR you HAVE to be 1st to have one.
A personal decision but me...I agree I'd wait and go Mil sales especially on something that will start depreciating the moment I drive it off the lot! Only problem will be finding a mil sales that still has an 08 allocation for a car so you get delivery in the early spring/summer and not have to wait for an 09 car which would put you in the fall/winter delivery situation. I'd send some emails and do some recon if it was me. Good luck...let us know how the car looks and drives if you get a Feb allocation with your local guy by all means!

That is a very good point. It is about $5 or 6 thousand cheaper. But some how, it only came to only about 3 grand difference at the end. I am going to have to look into this some more. The guy that I am dealing with at military sales never emails me the full information. If anyone knows a good POC for military sales, please pass it this way. Since the price is not officially out, I was only going by what the sales person was guessing prices will be and options.

Port,
I would check with a few of the MIL Sales reps before locking in on one. Speculation on the price just does not work. I'm in Iraq too, just watching and waiting until more info is available on this car. Thanks all for the info provided.

I also believe that it will be more than $3000.
I got around $7500 off of my M3 Convertible from MSRP. My guess is there was a mistake in the calculations. Assuming that your US dealer will sell at MSRP... your savings should be around $6000 -$7000. |
