Most importantly, I am a happy customer reviewing a fine product and a great service on here, so please no debates in this thread guys!
Did you have any issues with smog with the Jspec 240e?

There is no issues with smog, the people who raised the smog issue had alternative motives.

+1 I had Alex code my car with the GTS DCT software and 240E Euro about 3 months ago. Very nice guy to talk to, and very quick with the work. I was in and out in <30mins.

As for the difference, The engine pulls harder and "cleaner" and doesn't seem as hesitant and same goes with the shifts. The shifts are very smooth, yet more aggressive, as if the car has "matured" and is more confident.

Also noticeable improvements with the launch control (3500RPM launch), engine fuel economy increased by 10% for me, most importantly the shift in slow (traffic) driving is much more comfortable.

If you aren't getting this update, you are missing out on a heck of a lot of things. It's been dyno proven that the software has gained 15-25WHP.

Update:

Just had my first smog done earlier today and it was hassle free running the Japanese 240E.

told ya! Couple other people who needed to get a smog check also passed, it was a false statement to scare people away since 240E J Spec feels great.

Just had the J spec, GTS DCT, Euro MDM and coding flashed with Alex. Made the M3 more responsive and connected. The DCT now is faster and smoother than before. It also got rid of the slightly jerky downshifts when coming to a stop at slow speeds. And the Euro MDM allows me to drive more aggressively stepping out the tail powering out of a corner.

Alex is the real deal. Nice guy, knowledgeable and fast. Highly recommended.

I'd be curious to see the Japan 240E on a dyno against US 240E.

Hi everyone. I had my software updated from 231e to japan spec 240e by Alex this morning. There's a definite difference in feel especially on low rpms. The engine has lost some of the heavy feeling and definitely pulls a little harder than before. It feels more eager now on low end. For the money its worth a try for anyone thats thinking about upgrading their software, especially if you have older software to begin with. I can't comment on US 240e but from some of the posts there'doesn't seem to be much difference from 231e. Thank again Alex! Extremely good prices and service!
