Even the GTR. I have yet to see one driven to the edge of its life and actually finish the day. Sure if you are a beginner/intermediate either car is a ton (or 2) of fun!
![]() ![]() Even the ring times.......its a ~7:30-8 min lap. Most cars can hold up for that long. The second lap would be telling. As a track guy I want a car that can finish the day, not break the bank.......oh and it has to be fast. |

The big question is, all these cars get tested brand new. Love the latest automobilemag comparison of the E30 M3, E46 M3, and the F80 M3. I wonder how much mileage the E30 and the E46 M3s had on their suspension (love a proper apples to apples comparison). Having said that, running our E92/E90 M3 with high oil temps year after is a testament to the kind of consistent beast it is. Will the Z28 produce same numbers with smaller less expensive tyres and will that LS7 still perform after 80,000 miles like some of the M3 I've seen from this forum. It's the $70,000 question I'd love to get a fair answer to before making that kind of investment (Love the lip though. A little euro que

Actually the LS7 has huge issues in the C6 Z06. Has bad head/valve design issues and oiling issues when tracking. And no idea if they have addressed those on the Z28.

Completely insane time for a bone stock car. For reference for those of you that don't go to Barber, that is only about 3-4 seconds off a typical time for the formula mazda in my avatar (1200lb tube frame racecar with gigantic wings, slicks, etc.) 3 seconds is a good bit, but not when you're comparing a full blown open wheel racecar to a bone stock chevy. Most E9X M3's don't even get within 10 seconds of a 36 there, even with pretty capable drivers.
