I just got my car back from the dealer and they recoded the whole thing. Car felt sluggish with wishy washy clutch engagement. Got reflashed by Alex and my car feels "normal" again. GTS tune improves driveability around town and on the track. I couldn't imagine having DCT without it now. |

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=963656 Since everything on this car costs 10k+ even the parts...lol..I'll take a sloppy but effective trans, over a voided warranty. However, that's just me... |

The risk to reward on these cars is my problem. I have had low cost tuner cars off warranty and highly modified and tracked. However their engines and transmissions are easy to work on and cost like 2 to 3k... ![]() The BMW M3 is a different animal the transmission is what? Like 10K to 12k !! I understand the desire for the quicker more efficient shifts. I want to do it too. However, the risk to reward is not good IMOP....You have to make a conscious decision to (possibly) get denied warrany coverage on one of the most important parts of the warranty - the coverage of the DCT transmission. For slightly faster shifts? Hell, you could get denied on a transmission problem that had nothing to do with the flash, and these DCTs have allot of moving parts just ready to cause problems. Got Alex to code the 100ms GTS DCT and Euro MDM. He's great guy. I originally had the stock GTS DCT for 2 days and it was awesome but I didn't want to have problems down the road so I turned to him. Very helpful and patient guy. Car is still definitely better than stock DCT! Thanks again Alex!

Just had my coding done with Alex@Alpine this weekend remote here in Canada. Really patient! lol. Everything runs as should. And as everyone else is saying the GTS DCT makes a noticeable difference when you're gunning it. Granny-ing around town it's a little more smooth, R to 1 is instant (never really bothered me), but when booting it it's hella fast.
+1 for sure from me |

+1 for Alex at Alpine
He is just terrific. Friendly, helpful, efficient. What he charges to do this is an extremely good value. We should all support him. I won't go into the GTS DCT reflash benefits... they are well covered here in earlier posts. Suffice it to say the car is SO much better to drive now, whether cruising or driving at speed... my car is a 50-50 drive/track kind of car, with MPE installed. The reflash makes a big difference in how it runs and how it sounds. EXCELLENT!!! |

Even though I don't use it often, the start/stop feature of the car no longer works after the software change. Is there anyway to implement this feature back into it?
Thanks!

Hi Alex,
could you please provide some specifics on the differences between this tune and the OEM Euro? From what I read I can see there from some reasons are differences between US OEM and Euroe OEM so curious to understand what the additional upside would be? Thanks |

Hey Alex, I sent you a pm as well but was hoping you could give me an update or tracking number for my order. Appreciate it and I'm looking forward to getting the tune.

I heard from another coder that because of the ability to shift faster, your car stays hotter and to only do this update if you have another intercooler! I'm not in warranty and the last thing I want is to over heat my engine lol
Have guys noticed anything? I wanted this software update but the coder did not recommend it.
