Use at your own risk. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. They are probably the worse in terms of rules, structure and organization. 2 weeks ago at a XS event couple of cars kissed coming into Riverside. One car went off dramatically and rolled. Needless to say, the car was completely totaled. Luckily, the car had a cage and the driver walked away. They dragged the car to the side of track and it sat there all day. They scraped it up when the day was done and it was dark.

They sell 5 or 10 event packs. Depending on how you twist their arms, those packs come out anywhere from $60 to $80 per event.

You should write screen plays for dramas and thriller movies, lulz.

It's arguably a toss between Extreme Speed type of events versus paying anywhere from $400 to $600 to let someone else drive your car & spend half the day doing follow-the-leader caravans.

I don't mind the DIY HPDE groups. Just saying that XS is arguably the worst in that genre

I hear you. Heard it from many people.

And, it invariably comes from those who got their feet wet with the likes of CCA, which in the opinions of many, is just too careful - i.e. on the other end of the spectrum. "Extreme" (pun intended) in both cases.

Using my case as an example, during 3 years, I've done 20 Extreme Speed events, 20 Speed Ventures events, and single digit events with 8 other organizers that amount to 26 events. And, I don't see Extreme Speeds events as being THAT bad. Over those 20 events, I've not had a single close-call with another car or anything else that could be considered dangerous. Sure, it's the Walmart of HPDE's, but it's not an open air market place full of thugs & pick pockets in some 3rd world country.

Just over crowded! I get frustrated at many events. I don't mind some traffic, it's fun passing cars but that's why I always rep for speed district. Definitely the best and most fun along with the most track time

Id rather run red group with XS than Speed ventures. SV guys are faster and more aggressive in my opinion. And usually more drivers in the red group with SV.

Understood. I'm at a stage in my short career where I like to alternate between DIY and Coached HPDE's. I'm sure that I will taper off to FT DIY over time. I feel that I have seen both the good, bad and ugly with DIY HPDE's. XS draws more people & cheaper cars due to the $$. Quantity vs Quality.

Ahh man, some of us are planning to skip this weekend, and do BRP CCW1 on Sat 03/15.

Time trials are done & we all measure our runs on the standard 13CW config, but CCW is so much moar fun.

PCA SD and GGR run really good events. Plenty of fast and considerate drivers in the advanced groups.

POC is a bit different, and they only allow club racers in the RED group. Unfortunately, at tracks like Streets of Willow, they only allow 2 passing zones, and when you get a bunch of Boxsters and Caymans running in your group, it ends up being a very slow and long day.

Yup, I've run with both. I'll be doing Buttonwillow with PCA GGR in May and then Thunderhill in July (after doing Laguna Seca with POC in late June).
