Tires, VIR, and some questionable weather...

I'm signed up for a DE at VIR tomorrow and was planning on my usual routine:
Day before I put on the NT01's, swap the pads out for Pagid and freshen up the Motul.

After several years of very good luck and dry weather, this evening and tomorrow are looking a little wet/frozen.

So I'm wondering what the best thing to do here is.
I can squeeze my NT01's into the trunk/back seat and hopefully the jack and some tools to change out at the track.
Or.. considering ICE PELLETS and colder temps would I be better off leaving the 19" OEM tires on for the drive and the track day?

Or.. would folks think the best experience overall is drive up on the nt01's and enjoy the track day with some limitations due to weather.

Bring the tires and change out at the track. Let's you run your street tires in the morning session(s) if needed. Definitely a PITA relative to swapping at home and not having to haul an extra set but it gives you way more options and less to worry about on the drive in. Remember that they have paved the paddock so bring jack boards.

what they said, leave your street tires on for starters. NT01s will range from "not behaving well" to "dangerous" on any kind of wet accumulation on the track, depending on remaining tread.

Once the track drys out and the street tires pick up some heat things will be enjoyable

Did a track walk with Peter Krauss there yesterday - track looks fantastic! The added width for turns 1-3 and oak tree will cause pretty big changes in the turn-in but not the apex. The track will be somewhat green due to the repaving project (they did some things to minimize the effect) so I'd go with street tires. The day will probably be a throw away due to the weather. Wet cold AND green may be a bad combo... I was supposed to be there too but work is getting in the way.

I was scheduled to go to the vir club day but had a delay in getting my car ready (camber plates) so bailed on it.
I was hoping I could queens into Chin this weekend but they're booked up.

I hit up Chin as well trying to get in with no luck. I did manage to get one of the last spots for next weekends PCA Zone 2 event though. So far, the weather for that event looks good. Let's hope it stays that way.

You think Rezoom will refund any $$ or no? I'm thinking no since VIR probably doesn't refund anything to Rezoom. I'm not sure if it was Rezoom that cancelled it or if it was VIR.

It actually was VIR that closed the track for the day so I do believe Rezoom will get a refund, and they have stated they would pass that on to us if so.

Hope so!

Yeah! So not a refund, but Rezoom said they will credit us for a future event. That works for me. Was probably going to go to one or both of their other 2014 VIR events anyway.
