What are people using for a neck restraint?

I don't have harnesses so I can't use a HANS. For karting we are required to use a neck collar. Does anyone use anything like this at the track?

Hans makes a device that doesn't require a harness bar...check their website for it

I've been using hans for couple seasons. Don't feel comfortable on track w/o it anymore

Thats a helmet support. Its for comfort - not safety.

I been researching this over the past few days. I also spoke to HMS and they recommend quick-fit harnesses and a HANS. Anyone running this setup? Is this overkill for track days? I've seen a lot of sh!t happen at the track and I'd rather be safe than sorry. I am not going the dedicated track car route yet so please no comments about installing a cage and seats, but I'll have a track car sooner than later providing the wife doesn't divorce me first.

You can easily install a pair of seats fit for daily driving and track driving. Keep in mind its also only a harness bar or a roll bar, not a roll cage you'll need for installing harnesses.

If I'm going to do all of that I might as well start building a track car. I appreciate the feedback, but wifey drives the car and I have a car seat in the back so I'm not sure a roll bar or harness bar is in my immediate future.
