Sebring Raceway Next Weekend

I recently purchased a 2013 AW E92 and have the opportunity to take it to Sebring Raceway next weekend. Good idea or bad idea??? Will this beat the hell out of the car?? It would be my first experience on a track and sounds like an amazing time!!!!

Just hit the 9000 mile mark! She is ready to go!!! This trip sounds like a blast. Its part of the PCA club. People will be out there camping from friday to sunday at the raceway. Should be able to meet some really cool people with some pretty sweet rides!

What organization is at Sebring next weekend? I was under the impression that there was some official testing or something.

Even for a beginner, race fluid and at least front track pads before Sebring wouldn't be a bad idea.

Visit the track section of the forum for a surplus of info on car prep for track.

edit: united sportscar championship testing there this weekend. ?

It is being put on by the Suncoast Florida Region PCA. There will be testing for the 12 hours of Sebring until 5:30 on Friday then the track is the PCA's until Sunday evening. Then the track is closed for testing Sunday evening. Friday during the day the track is open to spectators to watch some bad ass cars take the track.
P.S. thanks for the info about car prep

Sounds like a blast.

Going to be lots of rubber on track. Not much of a concern to me, but you with a shiny '13 in white? Suggest painters tape if you'd freak over rubber marks.

Great idea.

These cars are made for the occasional track day. Won't hurt the car in the least. Just warm up the car before gunning it and do a cool down lap before heading back in.

As a fellow newbie I would recommend taking it easy and building up speed. As someone new to the car it has a surprising level of grip even in stock form. Having an instructor drive your car will show you how much.

Have a blast!
