Got some new gloves for Christmas

Got some Alpinestars Tech 1 gloves for Christmas this year, in the yellow fluo color. I had previously used some leather driving gloves but found that my hands got too sweaty after a few laps and made the leather bleed its color and dye my hands black, lol.

Anyone else get any race gear for Christmas? I had debated asking for a new helmet but decided to hold off for a few more years until the SA2015 stuff appears (early 2016).

I have same gloves and color but seams aren't wearing that well. Could be cuz they are little too tight. Love the tactile feel they have though.

What is the material that touches the wheel? Some of the AS that I tried had leather that kept slipping on the wheel. No grip. Maybe these are different.

its a thin layer of some rubber material over the top of the soft felt stuff. its in small ergonomic pieces so doesnt bunch or anything. i was using another alpinestar that was a leather palm and didnt like them nearly as much.

It's some sort of tacky leather material, as you can see here:

I got gloves for my last DE. Could not get myself to put them on.

On another note, yellow or red is a good color (contrasting to your car) to my make your point by's clearly visible. Some guys just put their finger out the window and not their hand which makes it difficult to see the communication.

Yeah, I tried them on at Northstar Motorsports and the owner mentioned that. I also just liked the obnoxiousness of the yellow as compared to all the other red/blue/black/white gloves.

I tried a few Sparcos on at the store and wasn't very impressed. They weren't bad gloves, but for the extra money they weren't any more comfortable. Can't comment on OMP.
