Basically purple derple bled his brakes. Posted big thread about it. Next day purple derple crashed his car when he lost brakes. Posted thread about that. When folks mentioned two might be connected he vehemently denied that he did anything wrong. I think a couple people got banned when it was all said and done.

Sorry Scott to thread jack.

If they were already used, is it possible they had some un-even wear? And when you re-installed them, they were not seating flat on the discs. The pads deforming/moving when pressure is applied will cause a mushy pedal. Hapenned to me in the past.
Sometimes it takes a lap around the block or even some bedding in to get some good braking feel back. Especially with the pagid yellows which really require to be bed in if your rotors were used with any pad other than a pagid yellow.

Which is why I favor the PF's and Stoptech Race pads. Throw them on and go. They bed themselves in after 2-3 laps. Shudder goes away in a session or two. I ain't gots no times for that bedding in stuff.

I mean to be fair, most if not all people do bleed their brakes before going to the track. (Post a thread about it, maybe not so much...) And then crashes do happen when brakes are overheated to the point of catastrophic loss on the track. Suggesting the two are related is certainly possible but its not like bleeding brakes is some complex procedure.

he asked how to bleed his brakes the day before then did it and had brake failure on the way to the track not at it and posted pictures of the incident.

Yes it was quite a thread. He didn't grasp that the failure could have been his fault.

I dropped it at Momentum last Monday, but due to the holidays, they have not even looked at it yet. I left some SRF with them and expect them to bring it in the shop today. I think they had about 15 techs off last week, so their work pace really suffered. I do have Pagids and caliper studs for the GT3 now though.

Turned out to be bad master cylinder. Dealer is ordering and installing new one.

What if you had an enemy that peed in your master cylinder, could happen?
