Aero(Wing/Splitter) - statistical data

Looking for more tests, info and facts on any type of car on what a decent wing and splitter can do for lap times. Any users experience. With aero and without? It obviously helps a lot but looking for hard data. Thanks.

Found this:
The results: Running with just a small 2-inch front splitter, the stock rubber rear spoiler and a new set of Hoosier R6s, Good turns his personal best Pro Course lap with a 1:39.161, a lap well under the official track record and one his competitors agree is probably the fastest GTS2 lap ever on normal compound DOT racing tires.
A year and a half later: April 10, 2010. the same car and driver on the same track with a set of used Hoosier R6s left over from an event the previous October. Same car, same setup, but with somewhat worse tires. However, this weekend the car was running with the addition of a modestly-sized (55” x 11”) homemade wood-and-aluminum wing and a 4” plywood splitter. The result?

The car’s best-ever Pro Course lap time drops to 1:36.868.

Garage List
Too many variables. 99% of the stuff available has no real aero properties.

Your buddy with the e92 and big wing should be able to comment on his speeds on the oval at acs i believe.

No doubt. There's no question it works and works well.

My friend with the aero hasn't run the same setup without aero so hard to give a definitive answer. Had another buddy with an s2k put on a wing and coil overs and drop nearly 5 seconds at buttonwillow. I would love to see same day test aero and no aero. Would be pretty cool

The wing and splitter help a lot. It's hard to say exactly how much for the e92 m3. For the s2k it really is about 3 seconds on most tracks. At acs, on rs3, i saw a 12 mph gain on the oval from just the wing. I think Rif said 17mph. Don't know what that meant as far as time though, there were too many other variables like heat and traffic.
