my thunder hill wreck

well im now joining your forum with a e92 m3 because of this wreck...

we have started a few threads about doing double duty as an instructor...well here is what that cost me...

happened about 4 months ago at thunder hill...i happened through turn 7 wide open throttle heading towards 8...back end over steered and shot me into a wall on the left. car had a twisted frame with about 20k worth of damage...

after a few months of acting like a girl i got over feeling bad for myself and picked up my new e92 m3..

ill post the video here in the next day or so....

my 1st day on the track will be dec 21st...i hope i enjoy the 92 as much as i did this car

How specifically did the double duty create the problem? Sad to see a car like that, but more info please.

well at the end of the day its 100% my fault....but temp was about 105 deg. and i was instructing with 20 minutes in between my sessions...i did that all day...by the last session i had no business running my session...was exhaust and not paying attention to the race line....pretty much over did it...got tired and took a bad line and the rest was history...

Sh!t happens out there sometimes. Looks like you made out ok in the end getting the E92. Still sucks though, I know exactly how you feel. I wrecked a brand E92 at the Glen in September. If you came out unhurt that's all that really matters.

In those temps, my wife and I will skip the last session knowing the toll the heat takes. To instruct in those temps is brutal. Glad you walked away unharmed.

That sucks but glad you came out OK.

If I can offer some advice...hydration is the key...I learned this in the Army. During the TX summer I'm drinking about 2 gallons of water a day. But the most important part of hydration is the 48 hours before you show up to the track. Need to be hard on the water 2 days before. Water is a key function to mental and physical function. Keeps your brain working better. When I don't do this I definitely feel the difference.

No Gatorade needed as long as you eat 3 meals a day.

I'm willing to bet that on a mild 80 degree day about 50% of the drivers are in some state of dehydration from mild to moderate. From the summer events I've been to...I would say a solid 75% of instructors are moderately dehydrated.
