1/2 Extended Leather? Confused!

This has been on my mind since I picked up the car a couple weeks ago and I never had extended leather in the last M3 so I wouldn't know...is there any such thing as 1/2 extended leather? I took a random snap today, not intended for this thread, but it shows what I talking about to a certain degree.

The car has extended leather everywhere it is meant to except for the DASH!!! The dash is plastic, is this a mistake on BMW's end? I have individual stitching as you can see, does that mean the car should have come with full extended or this is normal?

I hope somebody can explain. I will post more pics tonight when I snap some on the drive home. Thanks everyone.

Are you saying the bottom of your dash (below trim) is not leather?

Are you talking about the side of the center console or the dash? The dash itself will not have leather.

I have half extended leather too! The dealer was supposed to replace the top finisher thingy on my center console but instead ended up replacing the whole center console! With the extended leather version! And I still got a new top too! LOL

Oh snap. I thought the dash was meant to have individual leather also! Doesn't make sense why it is plastic. I didn't pay for the option so doesn't bother me but I guess I'll have to pay to get the dash in real leather!

If you want to get your dash wrapped in leather take it to someone knowledgable. Remember that air bags come out of there..so if the leather doesn't have the correct perforations, the airbags might not deploy at all in the event of an accident...

The M5's extended leather got a leather dash board, the M3 did not.
