Newly Installed: Akra Slip-on / RPi Race X-pipe Combo (Pics & Vid) >>>

(VIDEO AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST!!!)

I finally decided to get a new exhaust and x-pipe combo on the M3. After months of research I originally decided on the Akra Slip-on / Mastermind Race X-pipe combo. After talking with EAS, they couldn't get the Mastermind Race X-pipe in the timeframe I gave them, so I opted for the RPi X-pipe which is pretty much the same: Catless and no Resonators. I couldn't be happier with the final outcome in terms of power and sound!!

Quality is great on both the Akra and RPi. Nice deep sound with just enough raspiness. Best part is there is no drone inside the car while cruising on the freeway!

Haha Thanks man! ...the video seems to make it more raspy than it is in person, it's not that bad.

Maybe its overly raspy because its cold. I'd like to here your thoughts after a hard run where the whole car is warm 210 or above. Car looks great btw

New numbers seem a bit low or old number a bit high...19hp going to full catless exhaust, tune and pullies? Most gain 30-40whp with those added mods.

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Definitely overly raspy when it's cold and warming up. When car is up to temp, you'll only hear rasp when I punch it (even then, it's not that bad when you hear it in person). Other than that, it's a pretty deep tone at low rpms, and pretty quiet while cruising. No drone at all at freeway speeds.

Those were my thoughts initially as well. I know my car still needs to adapt because of the new ESS Tune. Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze out a few more hp's as I drive my car more. I think my baseline is pretty high...my target hp was 380-390hp after mods. I got right in the middle of it so I'm pretty stoked.

these were your near-stock dyno numbers?

"Baseline: 365.90hp 267.22ft-lbs - BMC Filter"

My numbers: (mods in sig) 369.15 max power, 268.69 max torque

mine put out near identical numbers on the same EAS dyno. seems to confirm that the bolt-ons / tunes don't do a whole lot.

Haha Yeah, 365.90 was my baseline with just a BMC Filter. I'm still happy in the end though...I'm in the hp range I was hoping for. I'll dyno again later this winter to see after my car has adapted if I can squeeze out a few more hp's.

that's a great baseline. my understanding is that typical "stock" baseline is 350 something. but who really knows. it's hard to pick out fact from fiction in the aftermarket tuner world.
