You will never get full use out of a stock M3 on public US roads anyhow. Its all for the fun to have a very powerful car as a DD. I would love about 150 more HP from my stock M3 right now to drive everyday. |

32 track days and 25000 miles since I had my ESS535 kit put on.
No reliability issues. I do make sure that the engine oil in warmed up before I crank the rpm's up. Only reliability issue I can think of is that you will want to change spark plugs at a shorter duration with a super charger. Since they are more exposed on the ESS kit, the time to do this is probably half the time it would take to DIY on a stock set up. ( $ 90 to DIY) Chose the 535 as it would be less engine stress and I thought it would be enough. Scared me when I first got it. Now I am so used to it that I had to dyno the car to make sure it was still at full power ( bad sign that I might be looking at an upgrade). 535 adds about 10 mph to your end of straight speeds on tracks. Added the M24 oil cooler so I run cooler than stock ( Northeast environment)

Ensure that, with whatever company you go with, have them clarify their warranty down to each specific component.

looks like they only warranty the kit itself, which is nice but doesnt really mean much as thats not my concern. My concern is being out 30-40k with a blown motor

The VT1-550 kit is solid. Chanage plugs around 10K miles if you track often. |

I think pretty much everyone that thinks about SC there M3 have the same concerns, i do like the Active Autowerke best solely if not for anything else is the Air Filter set up, it runs a stock type set up that doesnt have the filter stickn out down buy the road suckn up water and dirt like the other kits do.

I'm new on the boards well particularly on this one and all I see is bearing clearance threads , what's the deal with this ? Is it really that crucial ? You would think BMWNA would enforce a recall no ?

I would suggest reviewing each kits instructions. Take a look at the required modifications to the car.

The rod bearing issue is all over these forums.... As long as you do a oil analysis once in a while you should catch any issues right? I am thinking of going with AA when I pick up my used m.... Ive heard nothing but good things
