Anyways looking forward to seeing the runs from the next event
What is the advantage the result of? The engine and trans are the same and they weigh about the same. Aero may be slightly different.

Is the M6 factory tune a little more aggressive? If so an aftermarket tune will negate any advantage the M6 has stock for stock over the M5.

Cool test for sure but I would imagine/hope a tune would have made that M6 come out on top or else the S63 is a pretty disapointing engine, specially compared to its competitors the RS6 and E63 where it's easy to gain +60-70hp and +100-150ft-tq with just a tune!!

On a side note Adam, don't know if you remember when we discussed the possible outcome of a race between my manual VT1-535 stock cats vs F10 M5, you were'nt too confident in my non-intercooled kit , well it finally happened, I had the chance to go against a DCT M5 on the highway maybe 2 months ago, right before I installed my test pipes. We did a ~30-130mph and I'm happy to tell you that we were dead even with each othertill the end! Hope you learned your lesson this time, don't doupt the capability of the VT1!!

A half second is an eternity in these types of races. Maybe a tune will get it there but I don't think so.

Regarding the VT1, yours sounds pretty quick. My info about the VT1 is based on races I did against two of them (one 6MT and the other 7DCT) in my 335 which made only 400 RWHP and I kept it fairly even with both and was actually pulling on the top end (above 120mph). I think the VT1 does well ONLY with good DA. Once DA starts going up with heat (and elevation) the VT1 loses a lot of power. That's how I kept up with them.

I know what makes a big difference on my car with the supercharger is the type of fuel I use. In my firsts weeks with the kit I did switch from 94 to 91 on some occasion because of the availability and really felt like it was not the same car when on 91octane compared to 94, so I never putted 91 again. I even got beat pretty badly by my friends 09 stock GT-R on the highway while running 91, something I'm sure would've never happened with 94 considering the cars I've beated after that, but that we'll never know because I now have test pipes and I just receive my VT1-550 pullie so now I should be ready for 12-13GT-Rs!!

Not quite sure, always has me confused as well but nothing different at all. Same engine, same hp rating, same trans - only difference is in weight and aero I would think. I've seen it first hand around here the F13 pulling significantly on an F10- same went for the older ones. Tune is the same too I would assume idk, heres another vid with similar result:

The m6 are very quick, I've seen them take down a 2013 gtr black edition stock for stock

The F13 M6 used in this magazine article belongs to BMW UK and the editor of Performance BMW Magazine who brought it along was told by the BMW press office that the final drive ratios are different between the F13 M6 and F10 M5.

As the F13 costs considerably more and is not significantly lighter or have more power they had to find a way of making it faster than its F10 counterpart.
