Did I read that correct? Modified E92 was a full 3 seconds faster than modified E39?
Just shows how quick the new M5/6 are. What monsters.

Good test as it was done say day/same conditions. Glad to hear the S/C M3 came out on top. A half second on the M6 is a lot...probably enough where even a tune couldn't close the gap.

Thanks. I was on stock tyres and my first attempts at launching it so I am sure there is room for improvement yet.

The stock twin turbo Ms are fast. When tuned, they will be really fast.

Great to see you can still take an older car, add some mods, and equal or beat the newer car -- for half the cost. I have been following that plan for years since I cannot afford the fast new cars.

The premise for the article was exactly that. The M6 as tested is £100k in the UK. Cheapest DCT E92 M3 is used around £28k and add £12k for our supercharger kit.

I was surprised to see just how fast the M6 was. Had me worried for a while.

I actually think its the other way around - knowing how quick these blown M3s are, I think its amazing a car as heavy as the M6 can stay as close in stock form. With downpipes/exhaust on the M6 I think the M6 could come out on top. Here's a dyno of IND's newly released AMS downpipes:

A proper tune with that setup should yield great gains, have to love the V8TT in the M5/M6

Tune, unknown. Tune and exhaust, however? The G-power tune/exhaust look like a mean combo....

Not surprisingly, the engine remains the same as the standard car. Whereas the standard setup has 560 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque, things are different now.

By using Bi-Tronik III software and the same exhaust system they put into their F10 M5 tune-up. The result is the same as well since it now produces 640 horsepower and 574 lb-ft of torque.

Nik's M5 make more power than that...something like 605 with just a tune. Forgot which brand but it was fairly pricey...like $7K.

Anyway he usually shows up to the Shift Sector events so hopefully he will make it to AA4 in October and can run the blown M3's. Hopefully we will get a chance to run.

We are going to another event at the end of August where there should be a tuned F10 M5. Will hopefully get some videos.

The current F13 M6 is significantly faster than the F10 M5. Tuned F10 M5 shouldn't be a problem for 7+psi blown M3's - its the full bolt on/tune M6's that should put up a good run when more tunes are released (as are downpipe/tune CLS63's)

Anyways looking forward to seeing the runs from the next event
