Best Tire
Hey All
I have an E93, ESS VT2-625, Gintani full sport exhaust (HFC+x-pipe) with 19" wheels. I don't race the car but I want something that really grips the road and has excellent traction off the line. Any recommendations would be appreciated.. |

Do you drive in the rain? Could get a dot approved track tire...NT01s for example. Maybe Hoosier A6s since the heat up pretty quickly!!
As for a normal street tire, AD08s... |

Track tires usually take some time to heat up and get sticky though. But not sure if a cold track tire will have more or less grip than a cold street tire.

Can't wait for the AD08R coming out later this year state-side!
More grip than the AD08 and handles track heat better but still the same good treadwear.

Idea: List what wheels you have (offset if known) and suspension mods. Then someone smarter than me can tell you what is your max size. Your contact patch to the road is too small for the amount of power you have. |

+1. 255 35 19 fronts and 275 35 19 rears.
Traction is terrific even in rain and freezing conditions. I've tracked in the rain and freezing rain with them. There are really no compromises with this tire. It does everything well. Good grip in all conditions, no road noise, good tire wear. It doesn't track great like some of the other tires mentioned, but it doesn't do anything bad either. Oh and I'm going to track with it next week in like 90+ degree temps in the desert.

I have AD08 in 295/30/19 on comp wheels on the rears. Works without rubbing on E92 & 93's ( very slight rub on E90's).
Maximize your street traction... RS3's have better yet hot / dry traction but are much worse cold or wet than the AD08's PSS's are quieter with a more comfortable ride, but a step down in traction ( but still good)

Yes I would like to be able to hook up better in first gear, but only a slick or heated up drag radial would be able to accomplish that.
