So I just picked up a brand new M3 off the showroom floor at my BMW Dealer. I traded in my practically new 2012 535i and am absolutely blown away. I have drove the e46's both with SMG and 6-speed. 6speed way better. I've always been a row my own gears type of driver but this new double clutch system is crazy good. And not to mention quicker than doing it yourself.

quick question. im new tothe website but it wont let me post my own thread but have anyone of you had problems with the DCT m3's i just had a warning that came up on my navigation and said i had a transmission malfunction. NEED ADVCIE OR HELP

Fell in love with it on track at BMW performance center, its a must. So much better than the 6MT on my E46 M3.

Me too. Getting rid of my '08 e90 6MT M3 for a 2013 DCT M3. The gearbox wasn't that smooth, the 1-2 shift was super notchy, and the DCT is an animal, so quick and sooooo precise.

i love dct .. had in my old evo x mr.. transmission is amazing.. if you guys want alittle more look into the bpm dct software... beeen using it for a month and 1 trackday.. wow made transmission even better

I have the DCT on my 135i - upgrading to the M3 with the DCT car is on the water - expected delivery end of June, early July. Love the DCT in the 135i

Farewell DCT.. Im going back to 6MT. From a performance standpoint, the DCT is better. But I got bored with it.

I will miss the perfect rev matches and being able to drive while drinking my frappachino. But that's about it. =(

Now its back to fun times!

Its hard for me to believe all the BS the 6MT guys come up with to justify buying a $75k car with a manual trans when the DCT is miles ahead, i just dont get it.

So just because someone pays 75k for a car, then they MUST have DCT?

People pay 150k for cars that only come with 6MT. I guess they're wrong too?

Cost has ZERO to do with a preference. I have both versions and I like both for what they are. But the 6MT is hardly a downgrade as you are trying to make it sound.

If I had to guess, you're one of those guys that can't work on his own car. Doesn't track, doesn't mod and would also think the e93 m3 is better because it "costs more" right?

Get real... They are both great! It's a preference! Not an upgrade.
