It's not a big deal but sometimes those spacers are on there REALLY good. It might save you damaging the rotor hat and/or the spacer if you don't have to mess with them (ask me how I know).

Congrats on the new setup. Looking forward to a compare/contrast with the ad08's. Loving the 2 racks of tires in the garage

thanks. hope they get me a 1-2 second a lap advantage. i am going to run my ad08s one more dry day at least to get a baseline. havent had a full dry day and still set a new PR with the camber set up more aggressively.

I know KWs on E46s had a larger shock body and a helper spring which interfered with wider tires. Not sure if that is case on the E9X...I believe Porschefile had some fitment issue.
The NT01s make a nice coo-ing sound at speed. I think they are good for 1 second per minute improvement right out of the box. Do be aware that they don't make noise until you are already sliding. So you need to feel the car, not hear it. Otherwise you'll be in for an oh shit surprise As with R-Comps...they like more slip angle but are not as progressive when they give up. Try not to understeer a lot in them because you'll wear them out pretty fast. I replaced a set of RS3s with my NT01s. My best lap on the RS3s at Texas World Speedway, a fast 2.9 mile course, was a 2:00:03. My best lap in the NT01s was a 2:00:02. But it was damp in some key places. I think the NT01s are good for an easy 1:56-1:57.

The interesting thing I was told by a top notch instructor and accomplished racer is that R Comps have more grip. But drive it as fast as you did on street tires, just figure out those couple of places where you need to use that extra grip. Don't tear around the track because you'll wear them out really quick...which was what I was doing.

interesting. i kind of figured that but was planning on just tearing ass around at full tilt. maybe they will be still good for the 2 seconds without doing that. i have some sections in mind that would benefit from higher corner speed leading to better entry to the straights and significant time gained.

Thank you for sharing the pictures chriszeh. Please post up some more once they are mounted on the car!

A summer 275/35/18 street tire will have a much higher chance of clearing the KW Club Sport's spring assembly compared to a larger running 275/35/18 extreme performance tire like a Hankook RS3 or R-Compound tire like the NT01. Quote:
That is correct, the E46 M3 Kw kits utilize a cone shaped OEM style front spring which significantly reduces and hinders front wheel and tire area. The E46 non-M kits utilize a helper spring, like the E9X M3 KW Club Sport kit, that also significantly reduces front wheel and tire area up front.

ran the new set up today on almost full dry track. picked up 1.2 seconds with the nt01s on worse conditions than last week. had an instructor doing tire temps for me for part of the day as i came in which was useful. also had dennis today at the track. track buddy, show up in his f40! created quite a lot of traffic around us today. also had fun eating up a gt3 and 458 with newb drivers. most fun was session with r8 v10 just ahead and trying to hang.

I have a theory...there is a significant benefit from heat cycling NT01s. More to follow.

Slippery slope in terms of more mods? Yup I hear ya! I just sprang for a set of TE37SLs for my track wheels (write up to come). The first of many track related mods for me I'm sure. What's next for you? BBK?

Not sure what's next yet. I try to maximize my use at each new level. Eventually BBK, coilovers, seats, weight reduction, more camber, and even stickier tires. My plan is to run as is until next fall then reevaluate. Once at a certain level fighting for tenths is an expensive prospect. Luckily I'm not quite there yet.
