there has been discussion that the '11's have slightly more pep. do you think that the 240e software is responsible? whats a stock dyno?

i have a 2010 and my friend Sanju (Checkmate screenname) has 2011. he had the old software and i had the new.
His max was 335whp and mine is 358whp. Both cars have no mods at all so we assume the software has at least about a 15whp impact.

I dont know, that is a good question. Can it be due to ABS de-activation?

I had recently an update to 233 E from my BMW dealer here in Belgium.
And i feel that the car pulls better, and the second gear lag is gone !( DCT shifts also faster) So.... is the 233 E knowing in America ??? This is maybe a good question for Mike.......Mike-Benvo ??? For information.....thanks.... already in advance ! Last edited by ///M Power-Belgium; 11-14-2012 at 11:16 AM.. |

I had lights on the dash like a Christmas tree after pulling off from a dyno. All disappeared after 1 min of driving.
Why do DCT dyno in 3rd gear. I dynoed in 4th (6MT) and put down 339whp. I would assume that there would be a difference between 3rd and 4th gear (regardless of transmission) in terms of whp. |

I currently have Dinan software and wish I could get a definitive ruling if going to 240E software would add any power/drive-ability.

I concur with Isak/Besiktas here. My car is a 2011 E90 M3 bone stock. I only pulled a best of 335.8hp whereas his 2010 E92 with the 240E software pulled 358hp. Both of us have MDCT and run on stock 19 wheels.
The 15-20hp increase due to the software update is warranted and legitimate. |

I understand if your car locks and unlocks while you wash it while the keys are in your pocket...that the software update fixes this. I tried the cold start/stutter method while under factory warranty...with no luck.

I was wonder if I could do something about that when I wash the car. I'll have the ask the next time I have the car in for service...
