Young M3 Drivers
Why does everyone hate on young M3 drivers? Why can't we all just get along and embrace the M brand together? Please discuss why you hate young M3 drivers.....You will soon realize that the people that hate on kids are the actual kids. LOL

It probably has to do with the fact that kids driving 70k cars bought for them is A> ridiculous and B> makes people jealous. I for one am against it due to safety concerns as many younger people cannot control themselves and drive crazy. View the 'kid runs into rock' video as an example.
P.S. what is young? I'm 33 |

There is a certain amount of character developed from being humbled, working hard and earning your success. It's hard for me to understand when a 16 year old gets a 70,000 car how they can appreciate it. When you are young, you are unable to fully grasp the concept of appreciation. Until you become older, retain your own bills, mortage and TAX PAYMENT, it will be difficult to comprehend. The fact of the matter is, many wealthy kids will never need to deal with such issues, life is not fair, and it's hard for some people to swallow that. |

hate is a strong word, I would imagine that we frown upon certain young M3 drivers because they give us all bad name.
Case in point the e46 kid who doesn't know how to drive and a few others that exhibit cockiness and arrogance towards other drivers on the road. |

I bought my first M3 when I was 17. Yes I have paid for them all myself.

I'm 23, drive a lightly used and modified e92 m3, and financed it myself. I worked hard in college, had a couple big time internships and currently work for a Fortune 500 company. I think I earned it!

Driving an M car is a cohesive part of growing up as an adult. You earn that privileged in turn you appreciate the car more. Kids these days sees an M car as inches added to their penises, but I can respect the hustle. Getting one is a challenge itself unless your parents are filthy rich. Just my 2 cents...

If you're fortunate enough to have someone buy you a car like this, recognize that and reflect it in your behavior and comments. Being knowledgeable and a true enthusiast will help anyone's case, too. I'm 34 with 2 kids (and one on the way) and it was a dream come true to recently buy an '08 M3. Never thought I'd get into a car like this so soon. My last car was an '05 Mazda 3s hatch that I drove for seven years, if that tells you anything. My first car was an '86 Camry (at least it had a manual transmission!). When most people here work hard and save to get an M3, you can understand their bias when some "kid" gets one given to them. That said, any kid who's humble and shows respect to the community, is going to get that same respect back.
