Car & Driver Review - 0 to 60 in 4.4s
http://www.caranddriver.com/previews...m3.html?al=124
"Dropping the hammer from a standstill, we blasted to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, 0.4 second quicker than the previous car, with the quarter-mile dispatched in 12.9 seconds at 111 mph, an even larger, 0.7-second gain. The surface wasn’t ideal, however, and we expect even better numbers once we get one to our usual test track. Even so, that’s already enough to outrun the $69,785 Audi RS 4." "With V-8 competitors like the upcoming 451-hp Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and 400-plus-hp Lexus IS-F, and the 420-hp Audi RS 4, we’re leading up to one heck of a showdown—one that, based on our drive, the M3 has a very strong chance of winning." |

Solid review. 4.4 is excellent, DCT will take it down even further. Also, .94g on the skidpad, nothing to poop on there. Lots to love, except for on center steering, like the other reviews. You'd think this could be remedied quite quickly by BMW if they so chose.

"But the biggest problem with the new M3 is likely the price, which is expected to climb to about $62,000 when it goes on sale next spring. That’s some $7000 more than the outgoing model..."
They got me all confused here. The 2006 base M3 sold for $48900. What are they talking about exactly? With comparable options or something? |

Gas Guzzler Tax is gay. They penalize you with a tax for buying a car that uses more gas, and then you get to purchase more gas than others & pay more gas tax as you pump it....BRILLIANT.
I hope it gets at least 16.5 MPG, because that gas guzzler tax starts getting really annoying: GAS GUZZLER TAX Unadjusted MPG (combined)* Tax at least 22.5 No tax at least 21.5, but less than 22.5 $1000 at least 20.5, but less than 21.5 $1300 at least 19.5, but less than 20.5 $1700 at least 18.5, but less than 19.5 $2100 at least 17.5, but less than 18.5 $2600 at least 16.5, but less than 17.5 $3000 at least 15.5, but less than 16.5 $3700 at least 14.5, but less than 15.5 $4500 at least 13.5, but less than 14.5 $5400 at least 12.5, but less than 13.5 $6400 less than 12.5 $7700 |
