Update on new Schroth Harnesses

I think he got the Schroth Quickfit McGyver version. It uses their basic harness along with bungee cord, duct tape, 6 paper clips (per side) and 2 sticks of gum.

Seriously...ran the M3 on the track today and I feel beat up. My side hurts from the side bolster digging into it. I did one lap with the seat belt not tensioned...I thought I was going to fall out of the car.

Not sure if this is a lime rock thing, an event thing, or a bmwcca thing, but the reg page for an upcoming event shows that no 4 point/comp harnesses are allowed this year. So, this may all be irrelevant. :/

Lol...the plan is to install them today but my should hurts. Not sure if I can do this with one arm.

If I bump this thread, then it will have pics and a DIY...or might be another teaser. Who knows, only one way to find out!

You are allowed DOT approved harnesses. The Rallye3 and Rallye 4 are DOT approved. The logic should follow that you are allowed the 3 and 4 by BMWCCA.

I am putting the Rallye 3 in this weekend, it is going to be a PITA to remove the parcel shelf to get to the C-pillar mounting point.

For those who worry about these things, the BMW manual states that the Powerlok bolts that hold the seat to the floor must not be re-used once removed and should be replaced by new ones. The tightening torque is 44Nm. I bought new bolts.

Yeah, I wish. The good thing is you can find the ralleye4s cheap at bimmerforums. Got mine for $85 shipped.
