Pretty sure OP was just offering his thoughts on another bimmer a lot of noobs would say is a sports car, and not implying this was a "legit" comparison. In fact, if you read his post, he basically says the M is in a world of its own. There are a lot of people (outside this forum) that would benefit from understanding the M3 is not just a suped up 3-series. Innocuous posts like OP's just serves to reinforce that. last time my 335i was in the shop getting some maintenance i got a 550i as a loaner. very fun. new spark plugs the other day and i got a bottom-of-the-barrel 328i that had been smoked in. i was a little disappointed.
