They add next to no NVH. The only time you notice them is at really high speed and over a very sharp small impact.

Like to hear how you like these and what you think of these spring rates.
It seems like spring rates are pretty important for finding a good dual setup. Keep us posted

Ill post up a review once they are in and I have put some miles on them. Its unfortunate its winter here in Toronto, so my initial impressions will be on snow tires and no track days till May.

Which mounting hardware did you go with? Ground Control?

I almost had to move to Atlanta for school, but I chose to accelerate my last semester at school and stay here in Chicago. I kind of regret it now

Very exciting Pej! My AST set is dialed down a bit for the winter and it is very street friendly. My spring rates are 500 front, 800 rear. If anything I might go stiffer in the front. Can't wait to hear your impressions as JRZs are very high end.

So you didn't find the Grand Am kit to stiff for daily use?

Not really. I find it better than both the h&r springs and ground control kit I've had. My main concern (obsession) is with how it handles on the track, though.
Too bad you don't live closer as I would love to see how your jrz's compare.

did you play with damping at all? The club sports on my E46 M3 have a huge range of adjustment and they could be adjusted to ride like absolute crap on the street, if you turned up the rebound damping a lot, I found that when they were turned down, they rode awesome. Yes, there was a decent amount of NVH from the monoball front mounts, but the dampers worked amazingly well. |

RS shocks have huge adjustment range too.
All the way stiff, and it ride so damn hard its annoying. Harder than a GT3 cup car. On soft, it rides smoother than stock. |

It would def be great to compare. I think your AST set up will def be more track oriented compared to my set up.

Guys at Bimmerworld test fitted the parts today at their facility and sent me over this pic. Should have the parts soon.
Ended up with 500/800 Hypercoil springs.

Sweet!! I am going to add a small tip that I would do if I were you. Even though you are running different springs, I'd do some thrust sheets from Swift or the BMW thrust bearing on either side of your rear springs and on the front (not needed at the top of the front if you have a bearing type sprint hat. The theory behind allowing the springs to rotate smoothly as it is working is a good one and freeing this up will really help the ride quality. I will never do it a different way after what I've experienced with my AST/swift setup.

Looks good and should be reasonable on the street with those spring rates. Congrats and looking forward to your review on road and track.

Hey Justin (OKC), was just reading your post about the thrust sheets. What kind issue did you experience? I just switched to some GC hybid camber plates that do have a bearing top and hard plastic bottom seat and I'm experiencing a loud jarring noise at rebound. I'm thinking it is the spring "relaxing" itself but I'm still experimenting. Sorry for the little off topic.
Thanks, Royce M |

Kit arrived today. All the piece look great. Big thanks to Bimmerworld for putting the kit together and all the help. I should have it installed in about 2 weeks time.
Sorry about the iPhone quality photo. JRZ RS1 shock Hypercoil springs GC camber plates.
