Dealer won't budge on 2009 M3
2009, Black Coupe with only 6k miles. Tech package, DCT, premium... He is asking 56,9 for it. I want to trade my S5 and as usual i'm getting lowballed left and right.
He won't come down to 55k with his and i'm losing about 9k here... According to NADA, my car is worth 45k trade in... he's barely giving me 38k. Now I know they don't go by Nada, they go by auction sites etc... All i'm asking is 39k for mine and to lower his to 55 and they won't do it... Even with this deal i'm losing about 7k on my car... I posted my car for sale on autotrader... but that'll take time i'm sure. Any ideas what i should do? Here is the link to my car: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false |

Nice S5.
Simply walk away, find a different car. Just so you know, my buddy sold the same car (color, options, etc) although with 22K miles for $50K 6 months ago. I know it is not exactly the same, he was a private seller, but other deals can be found. |

A lot of people see it as 42k miles a lot... especially since it's coming out of waranty and they figure it should be less. There is nothing wrong with my car though... i just want an M3 and that's the whole reason i'm selling it.
I'm gonna cool off a little... i'm sure within a week if the M3 is not sold, he'll call me. Thanks bud. |

I think you're dealing with too many numbers. Calculate the DIFFERENCE figure you want to pay, then tell the salesman that number. Let him raise and lower the M3 sale price and the S5 trade price however he feels like, as long as it yields the number you want.

I would put down a (refundable) deposit to show you're serious and do it if he's willing to give you $40,000 on your current vehicle. This is what you wanted, show them you are serious and they are almost there. If they will absolutely not budge on this, they will either meet you halfway or it's time for some free swag to be thrown in Best of luck, you will love your M3; I guarantee it!

find another dealer. that car will sit and will collect dust.
Then when you do find one, and get a good deal, drive it to them and show them what you were able to purchase. In fact, i would even skip getting some servicing done when you do get an E90 M3. Best of LUCK |

private sale is so much better... i went and bought the m3 that i wanted, then sold my mustang. only took a couple of weeks to get a buyer and get it paid for.
