HP Autowerks E9X M3 Coilovers Using AST Struts with Swift Springs
Proven on the street and track, this system is unmatched by any other system on the market. HP Autowerk's AST dampers matched with our custom Swift springs offer superb street manners and unmatched cornering capabilities for the track. Offering separate external compression(Double Adjustable Only) and rebound adjusters, the dampers can be tuned from street comfort to a full race setup in a matter of minutes.
We use the highest quality motorsport springs sourced from Swift. Why Swift? Swift's R & D team created material, called H5S.TW, which is stronger then regular silicone chrome material. Because of this material, we could make the spring wire thinner, and could wind the springs with fewer coils, which greatly decreased weight while dramatically increasing available stroke. We also use thrust sheets where possible. Here is why: Thrust sheets provide a variety of benefits to coilover systems. As a spring becomes compressed the coils attempt to distribute the energy by unwinding. This is called twisted force. The unwinding makes the spring rate irregular. By allowing the spring to smoothly rotate around the perch during compression, the spring rate will return to normal. Thrust sheets also help dampening and rebound of struts too. Thrust sheet?s bearing action allowing the rotation of a spring allow the load on the spring to be more evenly Distributed which reduces lateral shock shaft load. Increased lateral load on shock shafts cause a reduction in the struts ability to rely on valves for dampening force. $3717 retail $3345.30 sale price! Would it be possible to get some more info on the different AST shock series?
AST is very popular with the E46 M3 guys for the past few years.

What sort of information are you looking for? As in rebound, compression, external reservoirs, etc?

5200, 5300 uses external canisters I believe right? So what series would you recommend for a DD with about 6-8 track days a year?

For a DD with 6-8 events a year, 4100 or 4200's would be good. No need to spend money for 5000's unless your budget allows. |

Just a friendly bump for Harold and these dampers. I have 5200's on my 135i currently. I put M3 camber links on the rear so I will be able to put them on my E90 M3 when it arrives. Likely am going to upgrade to the 5300's. The nice thing about the 5000 series is that they are modular and can be upgraded when desired.
This is the best combination for street comfort and track I have ever experienced. I love these things. So much so that I'm putting a set on my E30 M3 (4200's).

LOL....I was just playin' I hope to have 4200's on my E30 M3 this Fall and I'm sure they will be awesome. I have not doubt 4100's are great (lots of E30 guys running them and are very happy), but it's nice to have the adjustability. I like the modular design of the 5000 series. Sure made it nice to upgrade from 5200's to 5300's with a small amount of cash!
You going to do AST's when you sell the KW's?
