egr valve gaskets for SAP delete

i got my EGR valves off as part of the SAP delete, and am realizing two things.

1 - there's no way to scrape off the existing gaskets, they're on there good.
2 - they actually look pretty good.

(the lifted corner on one is from me trying to pry it with a fingernail)





and you can see there's no material transfer on one of the valves, and a pretty small amount on the other.



what would you guys do? slap a second layer of gasket over the existing one? leave the current ones? other ideas?

I would leave them on there. This type of gasket material is graphite and will still seal just as long as you don't disturb the surface too much.

I ended up doubling up. The new gaskets are so plump that it makes it obvious how much they compress when you install them.

Honestly...probably doesn't matter because again, they're graphite gaskets. So that's probably fine.
