How dare the engine didn't fail because of rod bearing issues and failed because of something else!!
sorry, could not resist. OP, hope you are able to get it fixed through insurance/warranty.

UPDATE: I’m almost at the end of the road here my friends... My E93 M3 is officially gone for good. After a struggle with the stealership and the extended warranty, I can recommend to never ever go to either, if you are buying any used BMW.
I made that mistake and it cost me, but in the end, it just cost me a broken heart. I have to recommend to anyone in the country that needs a new engine or a rebuilt s65 or fully maintained monster, to go to CARBAHN Autoworks in San Jose, CA. Please go to a reputable BMW shop and stay away from stealerships and extendos (that don’t cover every component under the hood) at all costs. I thought I made the right decision but boy, was I wrong. My car is gone, done, finished and will be in a salvage CoPart auction soon enough. I now am back on the market for an E90 M3 6MT and the first thing I’m doing is going to CARBAHN and having them do whatever I need done to make sure my BMW is in tip top shape. I cannot give details to what happened (dm me if you really need to know), but what I can tell you is that it wasn’t my RB’s, it was a flooded cylinder that led to hydrolock, and damaged the block. Enjoy your fine vehicles and your great luck! E9x for life lol |

Right! But if they warranty company, has the stealership saying that in their diagnostic, then we are fucked, am I right?

Are you in some kind of lawsuit? Otherwise why are you being so cryptic? This forum is to share experiences and inform likeminded drivers. If you're not here for details then why are you here at all? I'm not saying I don't believe you, but there's no point in dancing around the truth unless there's a reason.

Once everything cools down and I get my total loss settlement and the car is copart salvage auctioned off, I will go into greater detail.

Seems like carmax is the only aftermarket warranty worth while and all other ones are just a scam. By the time you overpay carmax 4-5 grand for the car and another 4 grand for warranty, you’ve already been bent over....

Any update M3drop?
An injector sticking open would flood the cylinder with fuel which can't compress, instead the rod 'compresses' bends and breaks smashing the cylinder walls. Their have been about 3 (now 4) engines destroyed this way listed in the blown engines list, I have heard reports elsewhere on this too. It's super rare but super harmful! I've wondered about taking the injectors off in mine and have them checked, but I'm not sure if that is something than can be checked (I need to find out!).
