Through the end of the month the tune costs $280 which is 50% off. You can either send your ECU in to Dinan for them to flash it (not sure if there is an extra charge for this) or take it to an authorized Dinan retailer for installation. It looks like most people are reporting paying anywhere from .5-2 hours for the install. I paid 1.5 hours but that included them adjusting my exhaust and pinpointing a check engine code for me.

I'm over the 100 mile mark. I'll admit, I remained skeptical about feeling any difference but she does feel different. It ain't significant but different. |

I have AA power pulley kit, GTS DCT tune and MPE. I'm interested because of the reduced price, but wondering if it really is worth it..
Sale ends here Tuesday, end of the month. |

Tune done and 80 miles to go.
After tune I had an engine service light on. They cleared it and said it was a DME error fuel something mismatch. ... said report back if it comes on again. Noticed nothing new yet other than MDM settings were reset. |

The reflash does not affect mdm. I have euro mdm and the Dinan flash.
After about 60 miles, I think there may be smoother on off throttle transitions in some circumstances. If there is more power, it's not enough for me to feel but that does not mean there isn't some small improvement. The redline does appear to be 8600, which extends the fun part of the power band by a couple of hundred rpm. |

@20k miles in:
1. Check engine light 'increased emissions'. Haven't run codes yet. 2. Passenger headlight bulb brightness was very dim. I continued to my destination and checked again and the brightness was back to normal. (The Color of the emitted was kinda brown at first). I will finish my 100 mile today and keep you guys posted. |

It feels like it pulls string and through the revs above 4K or so and in my case it has little burble and a pop as I upshift. It has always had the pop on string accelerating upshifts but it seems little more pronounced. I have a 6mt and although I tend to jerk in first because I don't feel the clutch engagement, that jerkiness is less apparent. Could be in my mind. The passenger headlight issue has not occurred again. Although I don't notice a drastic change, I do like whatever little refinement it has and have no regrets. I would have regret if I paid full price for it because I would have expected some hell to be let loose. |

I think my tach is incorrectly reporting engine speed after upgrading to 241e and the dinan ECU tune. My guess is about 400 rpm low.
I had noticed that the cold start only goes up to 1100 or so and then settles to 7-800 or so, which seems low, but I had hope that this was just a perk of the tune. Another factor that was throwing me was that the drone of the engine that usually occured around 1900 rpm was seemingly gone (AA signature rear). After driving another 50 miles I have found the engine coasting around 1500rpm, with the old telltale drone. Makes me wonder, did the tune change engine timing THAT much, or is the tach just lying to me? The latter seems more likely. |

To confirm I am not crazy, could another DCT driver tell me their usual cold start RPM, Idle RPM, and cruise RPM at a fixed speed in D, say 35mph?

Hmm that doesn't sound good. I don't want to think I'm at 3k rpm only to know that I'm actually at 3.4k rpm, etc. I definitely haven't driven the car long enough to know that it's underreporting by 400 rpm, based on sounds, etc. I'd appreciate more info on this.

I attached a digital gauge via bluetooth OBD dongle and it reported the same as the analog needle, within 50 rpm or so. I agree it is likely in my head... or just that much more insidious! why do you guess 231e, and how can I check it myself? I do have a cable but have never setup INPA and the other tools. I have also noticed that the transmission software has reverted back to pre-2011 behavior. No rev matches in D modes, no aggressive/predictive downshifts on high D modes, to include engine bogging in gear up hill. Last edited by Locksmythe; 02-28-2017 at 08:22 AM.. |

So does the ECU tune delete the cold start? If it does can you request to keep the cold start? I made an appointment today with the dealer for both ecu and dct tune, scheduled for next week.
