Get a PPI, check brakes ($$$) and suspension. When were plugs done last?

Rotors are $250+ each. Plugs are supposed to be done every 37k miles. A set of NKG plugs is around $60, it can be a PITA without the several hundred dollar BMW coilpack removal tool. There is also a $35 tool that a forum member makes and sells which has great reviews. Look for the usual suspension issues, shocks, tie rods, bushings, squeaks on the test drive over bumps, wheel bearings etc. Things that wear out, remember the M tax applies on these parts too.

1. Rotor change (all corners) 2. Spark Plugs 3. rear diff fluid flush 4. brake fluid flush 5. pad change (all corners) I'm assuming last time anything was done was around 30k miles. Is it expensive? Hell yes. M tax at its worse here. I literally just went through all the above at 60k. $1200 in parts, sourcing it myself, $900 indie labor. Once you do this, it'll be good for the next 2-4 years for various items. Almost be like a brand new car.

That's roughly the same price as mine I have for sale, except I've done all the maintenance items listed, have "cooler" parts on my car and it's newer

How long do rotors typically last on the average m3? Any issues riding it out with the new pads at 72k? Sounds like all 4 rotors need replacement next time around. What do you think is a good price? The seller is not very negotiable or so he says. He keeps hanging his hat on the money recently spent on the new rod bearings. Quote:
Nice car! Too bad it's not a sedan. |

Rotor wear varies car by car, you need to check for thickness.
If your spark plugs were last changed at 35, then sounds like it's time again to do this. Don't forget rear diff fluid flush too.

I think the price sounds fair.

I thinks the price is right on point, especially with rod bearing replacement receipts. All the other stuff is normal wear and tear, time to suck it up and pay the M tax as stated above. If you DIY it greatly reduces all maintenance costs.

I'm thinking about selling my 08 e90 6MT Loaded. Interlagos blue on Bamboo with 75k miles. Had rod bearings done by BMW at 55k miles and of course both throttle body actuators around the same time.
Car is like new with brand new Michelin Tires and needs nothing. I'll probably list it for 29k. I'm in SF. |

08/09s can sell in any range between $25 and $31 depending on mileage, condition, whether major servicing done by owner or being pushed to the next owner...
