agreed, if you want to feel the feedback of the clutch and all the mechanical components better, go with a thinner sole and narrow shoe.

When I first learned to drive a MT back in my prior car, I exclusively drove with the same pair of shoes. I found out that driving with dress shoes or other thick soled or fat toed shoes gets a bit sloppy driving a performance MT.

Today, my prefer shoe are Pumas. They are perfect as they have thin rubber or grippy soles and are narrow. Many also have heel padding as well.
